Super 8 Gretna

The room was ok but the beds were very hard. Looked like an older hotel.

All my experiences at this hotel were overshadowed by the presence of bed bugs in our room. Yep, bed bugs. Woke up in the middle of the night and found them. My daughter suffered the worse of the bites. The staff was not surprised when I reported it. I had to ask for a new room that he knew didn't have bed bugs, to which the clerk responded that I might take the bed bugs to the new room. I responded it would be unfair if I took them to another hotel. He offered the room next to the one we already had. I refused. He then offered one across the hall. Not ideal, but better. As for the rest of the hotel, it was showing its wear and age. The heated pool was freezing cold and the "hot" tub not much better. The carpets were dirty as were some of the walls. One of the pictures on the walls had mold. The shingles were falling off the roof. Parking was inconvenient and part of the lot was torn-up. The staff weren't over-friendly, but they were not mean or rude. (Although there was rarely more than one person on staff.) Ice machine and everything else (even those amenities I never saw) was only on the first floor. One of the side doors I used didn't fully shut, which I thought was unsafe. The waffles for breakfast were great. But, I'd rather have gone throughout my life having never seen a bed bug. I cancelled a hotel reservation I had in another town next week. The thought of bed bugs again was too much, too soon. And, I will not go back to this hotel.

It offered the bare amenities. It was older but clean and staff were friendly. We asked for two non smoking rooms. We obviously got a former smoking room- sanitizer did not alleviate stale smoke smell. We opened windows to get fresh air but 94 degree heat forced us to close them and rely on ac and smelly room. Beds were old, metal edging of once cut into you when you sat on edge of bed. Probably would have done better for price in Omaha, but this was closest location to State Park for a family gathering. Was very disappointed in continental breakfast offered. They ran out of coffee, muffins, had one english muffin and some waffle batter left. No milk or juice or toast. Was not enough to sustain, so we walked across the street and went to MacDonalds for lunch. Typically we get coffee, a yogurt or fruit and toast or cereal when we have continental breakfasts- that option was not there this past stay. The motel got us by but I would not come back.

Helpful staff, always available and answered questions with confidence. Dirty carpeted floors in the rooms and halls. Pool very small and water was COLD. Hot tub was nice. Nice, easy to find location, right off I-80!
