Old, tired hotel
They're remodeling the lobby, but it needs way more work. Dining are smells like an old basement and room cleanliness was questionable.

We only had breakfast on site, but it was excellent. Our travels took us elsewhere for other meals, but lunch and dinner menu looked excellent as well.

Family weekend
The Hotel and Staff were very nice. We did have trouble with the sleep number bed at first but the maintenance staff fixed the problem right away. We had a very comfortable relaxing stay and would stay there again.

The staff works hard to make you happy
We came to Fargo/Moorhead to help my sweetheart's parents take care of their house. We wanted a place that was quiet and not too expensive. We got both those things and a lot more from our stay. The staff at every level worked hard to make sure we got what we wanted - even when it wasn't something they normally did. The staff gets 5 stars. We had a hard time getting the room to be the "right" temperature and we are not fans of the sleep number beds, but we reconfigured the room to fit our needs and the staff left the furniture where we put it for the whole stay. The room gets 4 stars.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Eat at HoDo - corner of 1st & Broadway. The food would make a mark in Berkeley's restaurant scene. They also have a line on the bill where you can donate to a charity (changes monthly) - which I found really a good thing to do.

Really Poor
This place is worth about $50/night at most, not the $130+ they charge. They wouldn't give me a late checkout. I needed to borrow a scissor for a second at the front desk and they didn't have any. Needed a rollaway bed--again they didn't have any--I think they said they only had 1 or 2 in the whole place. Took 20 minutes to get my valuables out of their safe deposit box because their key key sticking, etc.. And all of this was just for a one night stay. Really ridiculous.

Super Service in Fargo, ND
I couldn't get back to the hotel after the marathon and still make my flight and they sent someone to the airport with my bags to meet me there. Now that's what I call great service. The room was very quiet, something someone who is going to run 26.2 miles the next day really prizes.

Time-saving tip:
In Hotel
Parking is no problem, they have their own parking garage so being downtown isn't a problem. It's also a very short drive to the marathon start at the FargoDome. No need to stay closer.
