Stay while visiting Wake Forest

The Hotel is in decent location for downtown Winston Salem, walking distance to some restaurants and shops. Our room had a bad odor of mold and there appears to have been a water leak for sometime. The wall in the bathroom was water stained and the carpet was stained.

hotel stay in winston-salem, nc

I was there attending a family reunion. I am accustomed to have a refrig. and microwave in my room and in most cases (free parking or parking tickets that can be validated by the hotel). The cold water was not cold in the bathroom (Room 410). The cold water was luke warm at best. I had stayed on the other side and the view was better, but that was not terrible, because we may have been able to change had we requested. No complimentary breakfast was a bit surprising. I have stayed at Mariott chains before and it seems that the so called lower hotels in the chains have better amenities (Fairfield Inns, and Courtyard).

Dining in house is very expensive and you should familiarize youself with the area so you can travel to a mall or get to one of the main steet beyond the city limits.

Good Hotel in W-S

It's a Marriott. It's nice. It's in a good location downtown (a downtown that has improved considerably in the last 10 years). All of the staff I interacted with were professional, courteous and helpful. I've got no complaints.

An OK stay

It was a fair experience, but not great. Need to do better with some basics-- hot water, working phones, etc. Folks very friendly and helpful, though.

Relaxing and Friendly

The Mariott Winston-Salem was very well decorated and comfy. The lobby was beautiful as well as the room. The valets were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we got exactly what we needed.

Many of the galleries and shops are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Be preppared to look elsewhere for things to do if you travel on these days.

Great Location

We were looking for a nice place to stay in the downtown area and this Marriott was perfect in every way. It was very comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful and breakfast was outstanding. We would stay here again
