Decent but needs a bit help

Seems the rooms at this hotel chain are hit or miss and it seems if it's a miss there is something wrong with the bathroom. This one happens to be a miss. The hairdryer was not functional and the faucets quit working in the middle of my shower. Hard to turn them off when they fall off in your hand.

Betrayed

We received a smoking room after having selected a non-smoking room two months ahead of time. We were unable to change so essentially slept in an ash tray for one night, then left. Aside from the smoking issue, the room was so small you could only sit on the bed, the fan in the bath room sounded like an aircraft taking off and the shower water pressure and control was bad. Good bye Microtel, my recommendation for Orbitz is to drop them from your list of choices lest they also taint your reputation.

We Keep Coming Back!

This is the second year in a row we have stayed here! Although Microtel's rooms are not the biggest, everything you need is there! The hotel is clean, conveniently located for business around town, and the continental breakfast was pretty good. I will continue to look for this hotel whenever i have business in Winston-Salem!

Convenient Location--Nice Hotel--Comfy

Hotel was a little difficult to find and drive to (it's located in back of the Outback Steak House and does not have a dedicated driveway--you have to enter the drive leading to the Outback and then drive past the restaurant) but it was well maintained..clean and the bed was very comfortable...staff very helpful and friendly..no special amenities in the room but they are available from the registration desk (hair dryer, iron, etc)...nothing fancy but for the price and comfort and location, it was a great deal.

Good price, consistent service.

My wife and I have booked a room at this Microtel for the past several years whenever we visit my brother-in-law and his family. The reason: the rooms are small and basic and just perfect for a good night's rest and some down time. The hotel is conveniently located between the myriad parkways and interstates that crisscross Winston-Salem. It's a short drive to downtown W-S, further locations such as Pilot Mtn. are just over an hour away. We will book this Microtel for our next stay.

SMOKIE ROBINSON

We have stayed here before and find the queen sized beds a plus. The breakfast area is small but acceptable. Staff are always polite. We asked for a non-smoking room and the room was OK but the second floor hall was terribly smelly. We will stay again and location is great.
