This is a luxury all suite hotel located in the heart of the historic district in downtown Wilmington. This hotel is comprised of 5 restored buildings including an antebellum mansion from 1841. We are located close to shopping, restaurants, theatre, the Cape Fear River and local beaches. Each suite is decorated differently and has a unique feel to it. This hotel has a private dining club, jazz bar and conference center. All interior spaces, including guest suites, are smoke free. Provision for smoking is made on the balconies, courtyard and gardens.

Perfect location

This was a small hotel that is in a great location and has a friendly professional staff. We were very pleased with the room and the cost. Most of the things we wanted to do and see were within walking distance. Our unit had a small kitchen and we had a few meals in because we were too tired to go out. I found the room very clean and the beds comfortable. The furnishings all recent or in very good shape. Overall we enjoyed our visit and if we return to Wilmington would defiantly stay at the Wilmingtonian.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Lots of great bars with live music within easy walking distance. We always felt very safe in all areas of downtown even late at night.

Excellent downtown location

Charming, like a one bedroom apt. Excellent location to downtown. Can walk to everything and don't have to worry about parking. We only stayed one night but it would be great for longer stays due to kitchen area full size fridge and washer dryer in unit.

Fun relaxing stay.

My wife and I stayed in one of the cinema house suite apartments. It was actually really nice to have a home away from home so close to the downtown and the riverfront. The place seemed like they were fixing up or working on a couple of the rooms while we were there. The staff was fine and gave us plenty of privacy. We both really enjoyed the couch fridge and flat screen after a long day at the beach.

awesome historic feel

Awesome historic feel. We had the Charleston suite in the oldest building. Beautiful room, kinda small but perfect for my wife's birthday party. Short walk to the down town businesses and that's the main reason I picked it.

Cool and quirky

This was a quirky hotel, but just the way I like it. It has the appearance of a renovated and divided up house, which I am sure it is, but that means that it was very spacious, with separate dining/living area, bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was great - including oven and dishwasher. And there was a washing machine in the bathroom. I was really happy to have found the Wilmingtonian, and if business brings me back to Wilmington, I would stay here again. Just don't expect the Ritz, and you may have to climb stairs. My only real issue was it took me a while to find all the light switches - you may have to look behind the doors

nice but not as nice as the pictures

The hotel had a great location, we could walk everywhere. The rooms were nice but not as nice as the pictures made it out to be. The woman that checked us in could have been a little nicer but she did let us check in three hours early. Over all I would stay there again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The brewery had great food for very ressonable prices and the Dixie is the place to go for breakfast (great coffee and good food) and both are right around the corner from the hotel.
