Best Hotel to stay in Wilmington!!!

Huge condo room, with seperate bedroom, large bathroom and fold out sleeper couch with kitchen and flatscreen tv. All rooms have a very large balcony that is great to people watch and eat dinner or breakfast on while enjoying the beautiful waterfront view of the cape fear river. We watched a coast guard ship that was docked right in front of our hotel. Very close to everything. walking distance to everything. We will stay here again and again.. Check in across the street at the hilton, and then park and go into room. Very easy, no drama and very fast check in.

There is a cuban resturant close by, do not eat here!!!! very rude waitress and their drinks were watered down, when we mentioned this to manager, he kinda laughed and just said "yeah" but didn't offer to give us anything else...very very poor service, the wait staff never were around and we had to ask to get our check so we could leave....never ever will we return to this place...and you shouldn't either....terrible..

3-Day Getaway

We chose the Riverview Suites to experience the waterfront in Wilmington, and the location cannot be beat. Great restaurants, shops, galleries, etc., were all in walking distance, and we could watch the sunset every evening from our balcony. Unfortunately, the suite had its air conditioning unit in a closet directly beside the head of our bed and was LOUD as it turned on and off throughout the night. We eventually had to turn the system off, as we could not sleep. (It was in the 90s that week and very stuffy in the condo after that.) We were offered the option to change rooms but were told that all of the suites have the same set up with the AC in the bedroom, so we stayed where we were and really slept poorly for 3 nights. Secondary to this, the toilet would not flush properly, the remote control had no batteries, and the sofa and arm chair were dirty. We reported this to the hotel staff the next morning and they assured us that at least the toilet and remote would be taken care of while we were out. We returned in the evening to find nothing had been fixed and had to call the service people at 8pm to get assistance. I felt disappointed by my experience although I do appreciate the wonderful breakfast that the Hilton gave us on the house for our troubles! That was delicious.

The buffet breakfast at the Hilton across the street was delicious! We also enjoyed eating at The George on the Riverwalk. There was live music and the food was fantastic.

No

Although we had the address for this hotel, we could not find any signs saying "Riverview Suites" to confirm. Once we made our way to the backdoor (there was no front door), we saw a note saying we had to check in at the Hilton hotel diagonally across the street. Our hotel didn't even have a lobby. These facts would have been nice to have known beforehand. While the large suit was very nice, had nice furnishings and decor, other complaints include a big stain on the sheet ( I don't want to know what it was), a foam mattress that was way too hard, and soft pillows that were way too soft. I didn't sleep well at all. And there wasn't a remote for the bedroom TV.

SUITE ON THE RIVER

CONVENIENT LOCATION TO EVERYTHING................WONDERFUL RESTAURANTS AND PUBS. FREE TROLLEY TO GET AROUND DOWNTOWN OR WALK THROUGH THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF HISTORY AND BEAUTY. THE SUITE WAS LIKE HAVING YOUR OWN CONDO........NOT LIKE A COLD HOTEL ROOM. LINENS WERE AWESOME AND HOUSEKEEPING KEPT OUR LITTLE CONDO SPOTLESS. WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST RIVERVIEW SUITES FOR A LOVELY STAY!

Excellent Experience

We live about an hour away near Myrtle Beach and came up for two nights on our anniversary. The rooms were great, very nice furnishings, adequately equipped kitchenette (although we really didn't eat in, just some munchies). It was great to have the full size fridge for drinks and snacks. The beds are Temperpedic mattresses and are to die for. Pillows are great as is bedding.....very comfortable sleeping. The Riverview is actually part of the Hilton, located across the street and about 1/4 mile down. Your room includes use of all the amenities at the Hilton, pool, workout room, business center, etc. We actually stayed in two rooms, the 2nd floor the first night, the view wasn't so hot; and the second night on the 8th floor, awesome view. We had two small problems: the toilet stopper got stuck every time that it was flushed, so I had to manually push it down for the tank to fill. This was fixed promptly by maintenance. The other was the internet access in our building was through some type of ethernet modem that they give you at the desk. I never did get it to work, although I wasn't really needing it, but I would imagine that a business traveler would have concern with this. Ruth's Chris restaurant is in the Hilton and we ate there our anniversary night. We have eaten in many restaurants, but this one is right at the top of the list. It's pricey, but well worth it. Another nice restaurant we ate at was Circa 1922, less than two blocks away and very nice. Great food and atmosphere, with a piano player in the lounge area. All in all, we were very satisfied, one of the best trips ever. We really didn't do much but walk around and window shop some and spend time by the pool. Very relaxing and enjoyable time. We will definately be back.

Wilmington NC

This property is managed by the Hilton Hotel across the street. We had trouble with our keys so it takes extra time for the staff to get to you. Also all of the amenities are in the Hilton; i.e. pool, restaurant, fitness center. Also, the breakfast at the Hilton was terrible. Buffet items were cold and some of the made to order items actually came off the buffet table. Didn't eat there after the 1st day.

Very Nice

Great hotel. Very clean and helpful. There were a couple of downfalls though. The suites are not attached to the main hotel, but they have a beautiful view. The other downfall was that the wireless internet did not work well. They give you a wireless modem to plug in and if the wind shifted, it wouldn't work. This made it very hard for my business work.
