MainStay Suites Wilmington

visiting family for two days and stayed at this Mainstay for one evening. It was nice. Employees were very friendly. It was located not too far from the beach or the riverfront. with plenty of restaurants and shopping close by and within walking distance. It was quiet and large, the room was clean and bed comfortable. Only thing that I would comment on is that I was surprised to go down at 10:00am Sunday morning and there was no breakfast. or any remnants of breakfast :-( Maybe on the weekends this hotel could extend their time a little bit? There was however coffee but I was just hoping for a piece of fruit or a muffin or something. Guess I snoozed too long! Otherwise great overnight stay!

the room was nice enough (although the amenities were a little skimpy. Shampoo, but no conditioner). My biggest problem was that we were supposed to have a no smoking room. It obviously was not. The room smelled like smoke and there were ashtrays there, so I had to assume they expected smokers. We got no reaction from the front desk when we mentioned it.

When we checked in, we had a room with and odor. We reported the odor and immediately received a new room (no bad odors) and a thank-you for reporting the smell. It's a convenient location and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a great garden terrace with palm trees and grills. Very neat amenity at a hotel!!

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly. We especially enjoyed the lady who worked the breakfast area. She was awesome, my kids loved her. We had to wait a day to get an ethernet cable for the laptop. There was a few issues with the lights not working, but it wasn't a big deal.

The hotel offered us a great value: as suite room with kitchenette at a reasonable price. The staff was always friendly and corrected every problem that arose. (1) We had some noisy, talkative cross the hall neighbors but one call to the desk had someone knocking on their door to quieten them down (it was 11:40pm) in short order. The room lacked either wireless or a Ethernet cord and the desk reported they were out but by dinner time, one had been turned in and they held it at the desk for us. The person running the complimentary breakfast was friendly, courteous and helpful. All in all, we had an excellent time.

Went to visit our daughter, a student at UNCW. Planned on taking our other 2 teens but that did not work out. The room was very large so would have been great had they come. Seperate living room area and bedroom with seperate TV's, also a nice kitchen area with full fridge and 2 burner stove. Location was great, 5 min's from school and very easy travel. Only down side is no wireless in the room. They did provide a cable for internet but limited to the kitchen area. Wireless would have been nice.

I was in Wilmington to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel was just what we had hoped it would be. Would stay again.

This hotel had large rooms that were clean and full of surprises! The bed was firm and comfortable, and the bathroom was always clean. Breakfast was OK as well. For the money this was a good buy,we would stay at the Mainstay again next year.

Rooms were clean, the location from downtown to go to nice restaurants and view the ship was only about 8miles from hotel. The history museum was nice for the kids as well as adults. Everything was nice and relaxed.
