Average stay, nothing special. We asked for a non-smoking room, but our bathroom reeked of smoke. The service was ... marginal. We did love, however, that the location was 10 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the bustling downtown area of Wilmington. It was also close to great restaurants and places to shop.

Decent stay

We stayed here for two nights. The stay was very comfortable, the rooms were clean and had all that we needed. (The pillows ... were great.) The staff is polite and helpful. The hotel has free internet (which really should be a must for all hotels) and free parking. The rooms look out into the parking lots, since there is not much around the hotel. Our room's bath tub stopper didn't work. The common area of the hotel - hallway/ corridor/ lobby/ etc. could be better. They really should do away with artificial plants which cheapens the decor. The pool area might be over-chlorinated - we could smell the pool in the lobby, and so we decided not to use it. All in all, a decent stay.

An Easy stay in Wilmington

Nicely maintained hotel in a convenient location to UNCW, but not as warm and inviting as other motels in the area. No ... complimentary breakfast... there's a restaurant in the lobby and room service is available. No relaxed seating area in the lobby because it houses a restaurant/bar. Power went out in the building about midnight; adjacent properties were unaffected; and it was a hot, humid night without A/C for several hours. Very convenient to other restaurants and close to the freeway. I'll look for a different hotel next time I'm in Wilmington.

Old Chicago restaurant across the street is excellent... pizza, pasta & more, plus a wide variety of beers and other beverages. Their Margarita Fresa is awesome!

You get what you pay for

Travelled to Wilmington for a wedding and only needed to stay one night. The Holiday Inn offered a decent location at a ... reasonable price. Unfortunately, hotel parking was limited and the shower in our room did not drain - ended up standing in eight inches of water. The staff were very polite...but as they were also very busy, maintenance was fairly slow and there was no way to resolve parking issues. Also, the hotel does not offer complimentary breakfast, and the in-house menu items were exorbitantly expensive. I would recommend travellers on a schedule spend the extra $$ and stay elsewhere for a more convenient experience.

Didn't try room service, but in-house restaurant open for breakfast and dinner. Only one elevator, so you might have some ... walking depending on your room / parking space. Plenty of parking in the back and no extra charge. Friendly staff.

My wife and I have never in our years of travel have ever stayed at such a great hoitel. Evereyone and I mean everyone went ... out of their way to make our short trip one to remember qnd one that we'll repeat and stay at the same hotel. THEY WERE ALL great.

I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone that is visiting Wilmington! I was pleased with everything that the hotel ... had to offer. Even when we decided to eat at other restaurants, we had plenty of choices nearby. I felt very safe and comfortable during my stay. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the drinks in the bar was great. When I visit Wilmington again, I this hotel is my choice!

This hotel was easy to find. It is located on Market Street which used regularly. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and ... informative. We were very satisfied with our stay.

The Wilmington Holiday Inn is conveniently located close to the city and the beaches. The room was was not very well ... renovated, just painted over (the paint smell still noticable). We had paid for an Executive Suite and what we got was a below average room. A refrigerator and microwave were placed next to the TV and an armchair squeezed between the bed and window. This certainly does not qualify as a suite. The bathroom wasn't very clean and we had cockroaches. We will not stay at a Holiday Inn again!
