Sleepless in Wilmington
Never Thought a Bed Could Make it Or Break It
The hotel pictures looked great. Things were smaller then expected except the pool area. The hotel room was clean neat and updated with nice decor. The bed left something to be desired. It was extremely firm and left me with a stiff neck and back in the morning. The sheets were very starchy and smelled of laundry detergent. The hotel was more pricey then others in the area and maybe my expectations were just a little high. Its about a 5 min. car ride to the beach or downtown. One dining place and IHOP in walking distance. Just wasn't the southern beach town feeling I was hoping for.

Great Value
Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. It was just a few minutes from my sister house and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly. We arrived early but had to wait until 3 PM to check in but we reserved a King Bed that wasn't clean yet and were offered to change to a Double Bed room that was ready but preferred to keep the King Bed. The free breakfast was okay but not the best I have seen. Overall I would stay again.

Great location to all surrounding sights
The hotel is in a great location.The room was very nice and very comfortable.The staff was helpful and extremely nice.We were given an upgrade on our room at no extra charge.Would stay there again and reccomend it to others.

Went Down In Service Level
We've stayed here before and have always had a good experience except for this last stay. I don't know if it was due to the transition to Best Western or what, but when we got there we were given a room that was not cleaned! When I called to the front desk she came up and made me feel like it was an inconvenience for her to have to make the beds. My husband and I ended up making the beds. When I'm on vacation, I'd rather not have to clean like when I'm at home.

Decent price but average at best
When we arrived we were put off by the badly stained carpet in the hallway and missing wall moldings. We deduced that they were preparing to replace the carpet, but a simple "pardon us while we improve" sign would have made all the difference. When we entered our room we noticed that the carpet needed vacuuming, but was otherwise clean. The breakfast bar was clean but the selection was so-so; the oj was unpleasantly watery, as if it had been thinned with water. It was open only until 9 am, which is a bit early for weekend travelers. The staff was pleasant enough, but we will probably seek a different place for our next visit.

If you are headed to the beach, note that Carolina Beach charges for parking. So park just long enough to get your donuts at Britt's (on the boardwalk), but if you want to stay all day, drive 3 miles more to Kure Beach where the parking is free and the beach is beautiful.

Decent hotel for the price
Pros: conveniently located in Monkey Junction, with an indoor pool, and a continental breakfast. Cons: The customer service was uneven - mostly decent, but the lady answering the phone was awful, wouldn't even give directions). The shower didn't work well.

ok for the price and location
When arriving at the hotel the staff was very nice and informative. When we went to our room the smell of stale beer and old pizza was very strong. the colorful koolaid stain on the floor was different. when the room was cleaned the trash was not removed. The first night was quiet but the elephants above us the next night should have stayed at the zoo. The rooms could use an upgrade. decent price and good location.
