The new Courtyard by Marriott Statesville provides greater flexibility and choices for our guests. We are conveniently located less than 20 minutes from the headquarters for Lowe's, Nascar Race Shops, and just minutes from beautiful Lake Norman. $50 charge for dog

I was looking for a motel that accepted dogs. When I found Courtyard at Marriott the info said that dogs were allowed. There was no indication that there would be a $50 fee for the dog. If I had known that I would have found another motel. As we entered with our dog the receptionist said, "You didn't tell me you had a dog." and then charged the extra $50. I wanted to leave and find another motel but my husband wanted to stay. I was dismayed and felt I was being charged for something I had not been told about on the internet and would not have made the reservation had I known about it. The motel was nice but I will never again stay at a Marriott.

Better than expected

Since this was a brand new hotel, I was expecting some quirks but it was a great experience even if we were just there for a night. The room was emmaculate and the reception staff was polite and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the Statesville area. There was an Outback steakhouse right down the street as well!
