Not so Quality Inn

I was in town to photograph a wedding reception and stayed at the Quality Inn on on Klumac Road. I wasn't expecting anything special, but this was pretty bad. I approached the desk to check in around 3pm, and the receptionist didn't make a move to help me as I stood there. When I finally grabbed her attention, she couldn't find my reservation and offered no explanation as to why. After a quick consultation with another employee, she finally found it and I headed to my room. I had requested a non-smoking king size, and arrived to my room to find that it was a handicapped capable room. Not a big deal; bigger bathroom, a little more floorspace. Fine. What I noticed about the ENTIRE floor, however, was that it reeked of cigarette smoke. My non-smoking room was no better. Other than the smell, the room itself was pretty standard. The bathroom was huge, as I expected, but nothing special. It also had it's own "unique" smell to it. I never found the source. Weird. The water pressure in the shower was terrible and I found myself standing almost directly under shower head. Luckily, I was only there for a night, but even that was enough for me to avoid this place if I'm ever in that part of NC again.

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

Downtown Salisbury was cool. Try the Brick Street Tavern for good beer and food.
