Please don't stay here. I went down to NC with my sister because she just moved there. I booked a room in this hotel for 10/16/10 on another site because of the location; it was close to her and she could drive me to the airport the next morning.
But upon arrival, you could immediately see from the outside this place is in shambles. I gave it a chance however. They gave me my key and I was on my way. Oh.. my.. god.. The room was horrendous. I asked to be switched. They obliged, and I was moved to room 201. It was even worse. The door wouldn't shut all the way, in fact, I had to pull it open a little to even bolt it. It looked as if someone tried forcing their way in. There was about a 3/4 inch gap between the door and the frame. The air conditioner wasn't flush against its frame, so I could see outside through it. I could hear people shouting from across the street. There were bugs inside the room, alive and dead. There was even dead bugs in the pictures above the bed! The light switches were sticky and filthy. The toilet was the dirtiest toilet I have ever seen. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. The bathroom door was missing a piece of it on the bottom. Again, it looked like someone tried forcing their way in. The shower head was absolutely disgusting. Every surface in the room had a layer of filth. A part of one of the walls was just plastered over. It made me wonder if someone punched a hole in it. I could not stay the night there. I went to the manager and asked for a refund, which I didn't get. She was very hard to understand, and didn't take kindly to me pointing out to her that the room was completely disgusting. She wanted to check it out for herself. So we went into the room and I showed her the bugs and the atrocious filth on the mini fridge. You know what she told me? She told me that is standard housekeeping. That all houses are not perfectly clean, and that all hotels will have bugs. That was news to me! The hotel I ended up staying in, in Raleigh, didn't have one bug and was wonderfully clean! In my curious revulsion (I was searching for bed bugs), I moved the mattress... The box spring was stained. There wasn't a fitted sheet on the bed, only a flat. The bed spread looked as if it hadn't been washed in about 20 years. Please, do yourself a favor and find another hotel. I found a wonderful one in Raleigh for only $10 more. And once I got there I took a long, hot, steaming shower to wash away the filth of that place. The horror of this place is going to stay with me a long time. Oh, I also pointed out to the manager about the air conditioner. Her reply? "I know."

some good, some bad and some real ugly
Smoke detector was removed. Only flat sheet on bed with blanket underneath. Full size blanket for king size bed. No coffee pot in room as described, no HBO in room as described, only minimum cable channels. Bedding had holes in the sheets,
several. Lock on door is loose and hard to understand foreign lady at front desk.
