Country Hearth Inn and Suites Rocky Mount

dirtiest, smelliest hotel, hallways, room and bathroom I have EVER experienced in 50 years of travel. I've been to Asia, Europe and all of North America and this hovel was the least pleasant experience of all. It is apparently a cash by the week boarding place. Bless all the people who passed those doors. Located on the edge of town-the wrong edge. No one with experience at this place would give this place a half star. Very sad, Orbitz.

Good price and nice hosts. Not fresh but everything worked. Bed was clean.

Room had a very musty smell. TV had no remote and to turn it on, you had to stick your finger in the power button hole, refrigerator worked but still had yard sale price tag.Bedspread was grimy and sheets weren't clean.

Very rough area with hoodlems loitering everywhere. Poor service. Paid online and then arrived after a 8 hour drive to have the desk clerk tell me I had to pay again even though I had an online reservation reciept showing paid. Paid twice for trash.

Lots of weekly rentals. Seedy people.Room lacked clock,hairdryer,working refrig,blankets,only 2 pillows. Towels were a laugh.Worst we ever stayed at. Fire alarm went off in middle of night.False but could not shut it off!

I felt like this was some kind of hook up house where ppl will come for few hr have plesure (boom boom) and than leave. If you are traveling with family don't even think about it. Its the worst I have seen in my 12 years of travel.

Simply stay away from this place. Strangers knocking on your door at 2AM, several lifetime residents here [*]

Communication problems with desk personnel, they did not speak clear English. Maid did not service our room the entire stay. Toilet had to be played with after every flush or it would continue to run. The sink drained extremely slow. Towels were small, stained, worn and were only replaced on request. Even then it was begrudgingly. There was no hair dryer, iron, coffee maker or alarm clock available. The only coffee was at the front for a very brief period each morning and was only filled once. No breakfast or snack vending machine. The TV was an older model with no AV plugs for my sons games or DVD player. There was a very small microwave and a decent refrigerator. The sheets had holes but were clean. I had requested a smoking room and was given an ashtray to use in a nonsmoking room instead. The first night I just opened a window, however, maintenance came in the next day while we were out and put a screw in to prevent me from opening the window. I had originally planned to stay through Monday night but opted to leave a day early. No t an ideal situation since I was there to bury my mother on Monday. Not a pleasant experience at all.

This hotel was unsafe and dirty. It smelled of mold and smoke. There were young kids and adults who appeared to be living there and were up all hours of the night.

I arrived to check in and the desk clerk could not understand english. I was given a room key, and when I arrived it was the a single bed, nonsmoking, which I resvered a queen smoking. As I was going upstairs to the second room, there were open windows in the stairwell with no screens, and large beer bottles setting in the window.
