Leisure and business versatility

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the perfectly manicured landscape around the hotel. The lobby was very clean and organized and it looked very inviting. All of the front desk personnel were very helpful in our accommodations and needs and even went an extra mile in addressing our questions about the area. The room was nice too. With WIFI access, microwave, refrigerator and hair dryer, they anticipated our needs. I would have to say my favorite thing in the hotel would have to be the comfort of the plush bed………I slept very well!

Needs Updating

We stayed for 2 nights. In the first room had several stains in the carpet and had somewhat of a beer smell. Later that evening we think we found where the smell was coming from. We found a 32oz beer bottle behind the curtain. Apparently the previous customers may have spilled beer on the carpet, that may explain the smell. We asked to be switched to another room the next morning. The second room was in better condition, there was no unusual odor. We wish there would have been some compensation for the inconvenience. Overall, the staff was pleasant.

Clean

Pool and sauna did not work. Gym was tiny. But the room was clean and comfortable.

Side trip to Raleigh

This was a great hotel to stay at for a nice overnight trip to Raleigh. It was clean and comfortable , plus it was convieient to the musuems, downtown, and the State Fair Grounds.

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but...

...I felt my experience here was poor enough to do so. I booked a room with one non-smoking king bed, but received a room with two twin beds that had a strong smoke odor. When I complained, I was told there were no rooms left with king beds...why did the hotel even offer a room with a king bed when I booked almost two months in advance? This hotel was dated with numerous items in need of service (room had a non-working TV remote, no tissues, breakfast equipment was broke). I would not stay there again.

Stay in Raleigh NC for 3 days 11/2011

The hotel was fine, big room, and bed. Bathroom average, room did have microwave and mini fridge. Breafast included each morning which is always nice.

Could've been better!

The room was semi-clean but didnt feel as clean as it should have been upon check in. Breakfast was great.The coffee pot in the room didnt work properly and the hair dryer burnt out as soon as I flipped it on. An employee brought a replacement dryer immediately which was much appreciated. The fitness center was extremely HOT! Biggest complaint was that general manager would not return my call as my seminar was cancelled the last day and I wanted to ask if I could get a voucher to use for my next stay which would have been in a few weeks. Apparently he didnt comprehend that he would have gotten more business out of me, as I would have needed to book additional nights on the next trip. I would have just appreciated a call back even if it was a no.
