Great location--needs renovation

It appeared that the hotel was in the middle of a renovation when we stayed there. Our bathroom tiles were pretty dirty and I couldn't help but wonder if that was because a renovation was eminent. The ice machine on our floor was out of order the whole stay. The tv station selection was average. There was a big football game on tv that my son wanted to watch but the hotel did not get the channel televising the game. The view of the river from our room was amazing. Great location.

OK

It was in a cute little historic town, with a nice view of the river. It was clean and the staff were polite; however, they seemed to be understaffed and several of the employees were not knowledgable. There was no A/C in the halls or elevator. Our room a/c wouldn't turn off. The shower was broken. Many rooms' phones weren't working. The ice machine on our floor was broken. There was no safe or fridge in the room. We had to wait a long time for towels. We usually got them after asking, in the evening. It seemed like they were undergoing some transition.

Persimmons restaurant was excellent. A very short walk from the hotel. No nightlife. Close to New Bern (Craven's) Airport

Great

The location of the hotel was an excellent water front location. I was in town for a wedding and the distance from the church and wedding guest was perfect. will consider it for future travel.

Great service from the staff. A very comfortable room with great view of the marina. Fun to lie in bed and watch ABC dramas.

Dining tip: In Hotel

It was the off-season and the restaurant was almost empty, but they came out with fresh hot rolls and did a great job with the food that we ordered. The waitress was very attentive without being obtrusive.

$134 for one night... thats a little pricy for a room that has no refrigerator in it. everything else was great, but my beer was warm.

Great hotel in great relaxing location

You will love this place. The staff is friendly. The rooms clean and well appointed. The bed totally comfy. And with a location right on the river and within easy walking distance of historic New Bern, its a place that is hard to beat. In short, I loved it.

Hilton???

Room was not ready at check in time. The room smelled like [*]. Toilet ran all the time, had to run TV to drown out the sound of running comode, couldn't sleep for sound of the TV. Poor night of sleep. I've stayed at much less expensive hotels and had a much better experence. Hilton?? No thank you.

Honeymoon Wrecker

We stayed on the hotel on our wedding night in 2006. We paid like $200 for the honeymoon sweet. We got a bottle of champagne in room service and the lady did not ask for money at the time. We got a phone call later saying they'll needed the money immediatly. I said, no, bill us or we'll get it in the morning. The hotel staff did not get it. They kept bothing us for the money on our wedding night, the first moments we had alone together as man and wife. I would never reccomend this place to anyone after paying good money for that room. I saw the hotel today and remembered the experience years later and decided to do something about it by putting it on line. The Comfort Suites is near by and also on the water and has much less revolting staff.
