A Great Night in Nags Head NC!
S&MT Oct 22, 2009
My hubby and I found Nags Head Inn [...]... we LOVED it! The staff was friendly, the room was very clean (and after a few ... not-so-clean places that we stayed on our road trip, you appreciate CLEAN!!!). The staff was very helpful in giving restaurant reccomendations. We spent quite a bit of time at the indoor pool and hot tub... also very clean and nice. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

We had dinner at The Sugar Creek restaraunt. It sits right on the water, beautiful scenery, great food, and good service.

Nag's Head Inn for an October Wedding

Great hotel. Only thing that could have made it better would be a fitness area. The rooms are very clean, including the ... bathrooms. They provide shower mats, but they don't just leave them in the showers to grow mold. Even the soap dishes are spotless. The common areas are kept very clean. My room had a flat panel TV, coffee maker and a small fridge and microwave. All appliances were in great shape, but I didn't use them. There are guestbooks in the rooms for ideas on where to eat, and the lobby had area maps. The staff is wonderful, but I wouldn't give them 5 stars just because it would take a little more to be on par with the level of service you can get from a Hilton. There's beach access from the parking lot, so this hotel would be amazing for anyone who wants to visit during the summer. I vistsed for a wedding in October, so I didn't spend any time at the beach. The hotel is close to everything, from shops to restaurants. I highly reccomend it.

Jimmy's Seafood Buffet was NOT worth the money. At near $30/person for all you can eat seafood, it was not cooked well enough. There are other seafood places that deserve your money, like the Flying Fish Cafe. Pigman's BBQ has the best hush puppies and cornbread I have ever eaten. Their pulled pork sandwhich is cheap and is an example of great Carolina BBQ. Tale of the Whale restaurant is also fantastic. They are all within 10 minutes of the hotel.

Meridian 42 up near the Hilton Inn is a very elegant Italian restaurant with beautiful interior & superior food. Of the seafood places we tried, we liked Sugar Creek Restaurant best, & Sugar Shack next to it for take out.

We really appreciated the bright bluue neon sign at the top of the hotel - easy to find at night after a filling meal! The ... location is excellent - not just for the beach, but for access to a variety of wonderful special attractions in Nags Head, viz Wright Bros Memorial & Nags Head forest. We would definitely book here again. N.B. ask for 4th or 5th floor ocean-view room - you get a better view of course.

The hotel is literally located right on the beach, and the location is close to many restaraunts and things to do. The hotel ... was clean, but was only an average hotel. Service and staff are limited. Overall, a decent hotel on the beach for the price.

You pay for location, However there are more hotels to pick from with the same location. Staff didn't want to help, wallpaper ... peeling off in bathroom, Don't replace your bed sheets during your stay (gets a nice build up of sand). Don't leave money in sight it will be gone upon return.
