We usually camp, but season and weather did not permit for it this trip. Room was adequate. Beach access was great (as long as you can climb stairs). It took a long time - many minutes - for hot water to reach shower and sink, but once it did, it
was adequate for 2 showers. 1 blanket provided for 2 beds, and it was a cold night (I won the blanket, son got the dog) Our dog was allowed for a fee of $25, which seems to be the norm for the area, but really too much extra in my opinion; $25 added to the room price made it overpriced for the off-season room and the few amenities offered. Still, most do not allow dogs at all so it is what it is. Overall, a good experience for a quick beach fix.
It was great! Right next to the pier and I had an ocean front room directly in front of the steps to the beach (#35). Pool was out for the season but the access to the close by YMCA was free with the room. So I was able to use the sauna, hot tub,
and Olympic pool for half the price of a 5 star hotel. Staff was very helpful. I forgot a corkscrew for my wine and they were able to provide one to keep. Also, it is really in the middle of the outer banks not far to drive site seeing. Really enjoyed my stay first time at the OBX!
