Duke vs. NC
Even though I booked this hotel 3 weeks in advance when I arrived at the hotel after my 6 hour flight, 2 hour lay over and numerous other annoyances, my hotel experience is as such; Due to their systems going down they lost all of their reservations and over booked their hotel. I was very understanding of this because let's face it the day was already a wash and the kind lady behind the counter gave me directions to a hotel across town and even called there for me. TO BAD the directions were for a hotel 16 miles away but I'd have to sleep somewhere right. When I arrived at this hotel that had no clue as what I was talking about but would call the other local hotels to see which location had my reservation. The hotel that had my reservation was 2 miles away from the first hotel.

Extra clean and nice hotel.
Awesome staff. Everything is clean. Perfect shuttle service. The only thing I didn't like was the spacing on the doors. There was kind of a big gap from the floor to the bottom of the doors so light would always shine in and I could always hear people passing and sure they could have heard me if I made any noise... so that was one star off for privacy. Everything else was perfect.

"Trustworthy I think NOT"
I thought the stay was fine till my daughter (who is 18) and I went down to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. The gentleman who waited on us was not too interested on doing his job, but watching the big plasma TV in the room was catching his interests more. He could not even get the water order correct. The food was ok the service less then ok. Meanwhile, I had left our bags and my purse with my wallet in the room. The cleaning lady came into the room while my daughter and I were at breakfast did not clean the room but did clean out my wallet. When we returned from breakfast, I went to put the change from the breakfast bill in my wallet and noticed that the 350.00 dollars (all $50.'s) that I had in the wallet was missing. I immediately started searching my things and the room to see if I missed placed my money. Knowing that I did not and that I did have the money in my wallet in my purse sitting on the desk in the room when we went to breakfast I went down to the front desk to report the theft. The not so helpful young man working the front desk that morning basically said there was nothing he could do but maybe call the police. I told that would be a start. The police was called and I ask to have the cleaning lady question since she was the only person on the floor and did see that we were leaving for breakfast. This is still a open case with the police department, the hotel was and the management was not at all any help or could not care that someone on their staff stole from a guest in their hotel. I live oversees and travel in Europe alot and never have any problems with hotels and having things stolen from me, maybe American hotels need to do better backgroung checks on the people they are hiring or increase the salaries so they can hire people that will not steal from their cutomers. My recommendation is, if you plan on staying here bring your own safe.

very friendly
I had had a long trip getting to North Carolina, so I was pleased at the friendly face I saw when I reached the hotel. The bed was great and I order room service for breakfast which was wonderful.

Close to the airport and the shuttle was right there at 11:00 PM and I was tired.
