OBX

We got to the hotel on Friday night and the parking lot was pretty much empty. I guess that goes without saying in the off season at OBX. The front desk staff were pretty helpful. There was a card that I had to fill out with all of my info on it. I also had to include my car type and license number. The room was fine. It was clean, had enough towels, all that jazz. There is also a balcony, which was great, but it wasn't open. There were windows that you had to open to look out side. The lighting wasn't the greatest and was pretty dim in the room. The hotel was close to a lot of restaurants and other attractions. I wish that the hotel would allow you to just leave when you check out. This is often the case when you book online. But, I had to go down to the front desk at 5 in the morning (I was there for a very early event) and check out. I would recommend this to a friend, but it is very bare bones. If you want something very fancy, this is not the place for you.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Look at all your options for dining, some are better than others. Don't go somewhere just because it's delightfully tacky or the only Italian restaurant nearby.
