BEST WESTERN Ocean Reef Suites

I stayed at the Ocean Reef Suites for a birthday getaway October 14-17, 2011. The location was fantastic. It's in Kill Devil Hills which is right in the middle of the Island. The view with having a pool and ocean view room was fantastic. I loved having a bedroom that was private and separate from the living room area. My only complaint was that the TV's were a bit outdated and the maid service does not make your bed on a daily basis or replenish your towels. However, when I asked for them it was done quite quickly. All in all, I was extremely pleased with my stay! I would definitely go back! Oh and the continental breakfast is really nice. Most don't have hot food, but this one did - eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy.

My boyfriend and I wanted to go on a weekend vacation to the Outer banks and settled on this hotel for the first two night based on its pice but this hotel let much to be desired. First of all, they advertised a pool and jacuzzi but both were closed and we weren't told that ahead of time, the rooms are SUPER outdated, they don't have wifi, you cant rent movies and only receive a very limited number of tv channels. The breakfast is nothing special but the coffee was great! The one nice thing is that if you bring several people, there are 2 full beds, a pull down bed and a couch that you can use. Also, it has a great kitchenette if you plan on staying the week it has pots, pans, utensils, cups ect. even dish towels! Another HUGE plus is that amazing deli across that street that basically has EVERYTHING you would need to cook/clean/accessorize for the beach weekend.

Not a bad place, but it really needs to be remodeled. The decor is straight out of the 80s.

The people up front were very friendly and helpful. The room was big enough for the two of us and clean.

MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO REST,REST, REST..BEFORE OUR GRANDCHILD IS BORN IN APRIL 2011. PROBABLY DO IT AGAIN BEFORE THEN. VERY NICE STAFF, MET ALL OUR REQUESTS. KITCHEN,FRIG,MICRO, LIKE TWO DIFFERENT ROOMS IN ONE. GREAT I GET LIFETIME AND HE GOT TNT. TV'S COULD BE UPDATED, ALO OF CHANNELS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. VERY CLEAN. THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS CHECKING IN, YOU DONT DO IT FROM MAIN CHECKIN, YOU GO IN ANOTHER DOOR, AND BREAKFAST WAS GOOD, BUT COULD HAVE MORE SELECTIONS. ALL IN ALL GOOD STAY.WE WILL BE BACK!!

Good, clean older motel with some smell(probably an smoke type room at one time), with good breakfast in the AM.

My adult son and I were impressed with the hotel and the service we recieved. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We had a great view of the Atlantic from our balcony and may consider a longer stay our next trip. Across the street is a wonderful deli and is close to several very good eateries. Staff was respectful and the properties and rooms clean.

The breakfast was really nice. The room was very nice with a lot of room.

Only wished they had turned on the heat in the room prior to check in. Arrived down to the wire for a funeral in the area and didn't want to freeze after taking a shower before going to the viewing. Other than that we enjoyed the room.
