Hotel is good because it allows us to take our small dog. It has a good location, the bed is comfortable and there is a fridge in the room. However you have to beg for extra towels and the price varies a lot online for this hotel so sometimes I
feel the value is not there.

Needed someplace basic to sleep while returning home from a fiddlers convention 35 miles away. New facility, so everything still in good working condition. Plumbing was great - instant hot water
in sink and shower. Flat screen TV, mini-fridge (a godsend in the summer heat for keeping drinks/food cold), microwave, 1-cup coffee maker, iron/ board, hair blower in room.
Lobby breakfast all cold food, nothing hot - except for instant oatmeal packs. Lobby coffee much better than the coffee-maker in room.
Pool was well-patronized Sunday night (weather was a living sauna), but far enough away from our room so that noise was not a problem.
Dining options on same cul-de-sac as motel. Other options a bit further along Rte 70 towards mall.
Convenient! Very near the center of everything on the south side of town. Also, very well lit parking lot and grounds. Some of the other hotels in the area were darker and looked a little sketchy. Room was dirty, carpet and walls shabby, but the
beds were clean and very comfortable.
To my surprise the A/C unit provided clean fresh air. Bathroom was clean too. Continental Breakfast was good. Overall, it was acceptable and provided the basics. I get the feeling after driving around town that you won't have many other 'better' options.
I would stay here again. (visiting family).

We have stayed at the Baymont several times--and previously when it was Jameson Inn. There needs to be more attention to details, i.e. bathroom sink faucet was loose, bedside lamp switch was not working properly, and looked like that the main part
of the floor was vacuumed--but not close around furniture. Seemed clean, but could have been cleaner. Also, bedspreads are getting faded. Only had one towel, had to ask for an additional towel since there were two of us. We were only given one door key card when we checked in--which seems strange. The outside stairways need to be cleaned (or pressure washed)--as well as the sidewalks. Just does not have a "clean" appearance. Personally, I think it seems to be "going downhill" compared to what it was as Jameson. The breakfast room is not kept neat, and the floor was sticky from spilled syrup. The Baymont now seems to cater to many "overnight" utility workers and the like. Many trucks in the parking lot. Can be noisy. Also, on this stay, we received a middle of the night phone call from a "female" looking for some men she had met at the Baymont. Not good!
We were on a trip seeing minor league baseball games, and Jameson is very convenient to Hickory's stadium. It was perfect for overnight stay. There was no interior hallways (rooms all on outside) which is a negative to some (like my sister when
she travels solo) but this one is in a good neighborhood. Breakfast has great waffles.
The night time staff was great :) very nice girl and guy but the lady during the morning hours shouldnt be behind the counter. She just dont come out as a people person. I called the GM on that monday and told her my thoughs she appreciated me
getting in touch with her.
