Comfort Inn Havelock

The room was very nice. It was clean and definitely a non-smoking room. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't have an elevator. We were on the 2nd floor and after attending a wedding with an open bar, it was a little difficult for my husband to get me up the stairs. otherwise, it was a very nice place to stay and I would stay there again. The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.

Well, the hotel seemed fine from the outside, nice parking lot and everything, lobby ok too...comfortable with seating while you wait for the 2:00pm check in. What surprised me was that the hotel had no elevator which I wish would have been specified. My husband is disabled and it is VERY difficult to walk up and down stairs, as a result he only came down from the room 2 times...once to go out to eat and when we left. He did not participate in any activities because he didnt want to have to go up and down the stairs. The room itself could have more pleasant, for example one of the beds had a burn in the bedspread and the breakfast was pretty poor when ended up going to Bojangles, which, thank goodness was next door. The people however are very friendly and as helpful as they can be.

The room layout was fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 8 nights and they came everyday to exchange towels and make the beds or change the sheets and make the beds. Only two things were disappointing..the room had not been vacuumed well, found a toy car under the edge of the bed and some plastic pieces from another toy. The pool was enjoyable other than being cloudy all week but the last day of our stay.

We needed a night stay, and honestly I would have rathered staying in my car. The rooms were nasty, hair still in bathroom, beds were so gross and not very clean. The toilet got cloged, and when we called the front desk, we were told there was a plunger at the desk we could use. No maintenance guy??? So, overall, I'd highly suggest NOT staying here.

Ok as a "cheap" hotel. But when I arrived, although I'd "paid" through Orbitz, I provided my visa card. Lady at desk said it should be MasterCard. That went around a bit, before I told her that I'd paid via Orbitz via visa, so she assumed that the number confusion was due to that. Then the next morning, they requested my visa card again, and said I had to sign their charge for the room (which BY THE WAY was $23 LESS than the Orbitz quoted rate). Now, I'm worried about two things: Will I be charged TWICE? and if the room was really $99/night TOTAL, why did the Guaranteed Price from Orbitz say it was $123? The motel, itself, was probably overpriced at $99, in my opinion. We realized this wasn't a luxury hotel, but we needed the reasonably priced room and rooms were difficult to find near the beach on Saturday night.
