Grandover not so GRAND

We visited the Grandover 11 years ago for my moms 50th and was extremely disappointed when I organized a babyshower overnight trip for 13 of us this past weekend. Service is what the hotel lacks. Working in HR for hotels I believe that a hotel at this calibor should have outstanding service. My masousse was eating during my treatment, the retaurant took 4 hrs, we did not have a rollaway we had called a week earlier for and no blankets/pillows available. All of the above could have been resolved with good service instead we had a deskclerk who hung up on us, when we went down to talk to them she was hiding. Husekeeping told us to go into the closet to look for blankets/pillows. Overall not impressed! The best experience was Morgan at the Spa, the food in the restaurant and Burke at the front dek. But honestly thats it!

Majestic and Relaxing

While at the Grandover we took advantage of the day by swimming in the pool and the boys played a game of pool in the game room. We also walked around the property and took many majestic pictures. Our stay was wonderful, quiet and very relaxing. We look forward to going back again.

We had lunch at The Grandover, however it was a little pricing to take 5 grandkids so we opted out for dinner. Several great restaurants within a few miles.

Grandover Resort

The Grandover is wonderful. The entry is huge with large oversized furniture, high ceilings and marble floors. When we arrived at our room we not disappointed with the comfort or decor, very lovely with a golf course view and lots of sunlight. We did use the spa and although the locker room was on the small side, it was never crowded and we basically had the area to ourselves. The massage and body wrap were very relaxing. The only thing which could be improved upon would be the size of the sign in the "Quiet Room" were you wait to be called for your spa treatment. Apparently the small sign was unreadable by the two gabby yappers who were also in the quiet room with me.

Classy, Comfortable, Unpretentious

Seemingly in the middle of nowhere for a hotel of this calibur, The Grandover is one I have noticed for awhile, wondering if it would be a good place to either prepare for or recuperate from a "family visit" as I traveled up and down I-85. I decided to try it, and it did not disappoint. My purpose was retreat and relaxation, and both goals were met. The spa facility, while small, was well appointed and quiet, the services excellent. Everything I ate - from casual cafe lunch to fine dining to salad by the fire in the bar - was excellent and any unusual requests were welcomed and delivered where possible. This was the first of many stays.

excellent hospitality

the Grandover Resort is all about hospitality. We were greeted promptly at the door (even though we arrived late at night) and then had a request for directions somewhere which were answered without hesitation! Very pleased with our overnight stay.
