Among our worst hotel experiences

Lodge America was probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The lock on our unit door was broken, the burners on the stove were all pulled out, there was no shower curtain or even a soap dish, no utensils, and what appeared to be used bedding. When we entered the room, all of the drawers had been opened, which led us to believe that perhaps they had just fumigated the room! Never again!!

Nice place to stay!

We traveled to North Carolina twice within in two weeks. The first time we went we stayed at a different hotel and it was terrible. Due to that we were very skeptical about staying again with only the internet to make our choice of hotels again. This hotel had some good reviews and some not so good. Once we arrived we were pleasently surprised. This place was very nice for the price.

Nice two night stay

Lodge America of Greensboro, NC was a nice simple room. I liked the fact that the bathroom wasn't cramped. It would be nice if they had extra pillows and shampoo the carpets. Perhaps management would take into consideraion to offer more than one mini soap along with offering mini shampoo and lotion now that we are limited by flying regulations.

basic and satisfying room

Room was very basic but clean. Free internet access was a great plus. In area that was surrounded by chain restaurants, which I personally did not like but may be perfect for other people. It is close to the highway and it was easy to get around.

Convenient location

Since I have stayed at this hotel before, I was still pleased to find again the friendly service and assistance offered by the staff. The location near several well-known dining facilities was and still remains a major reason for my selection of this site. I did, however, note that the stove did not work, but since I only tried to use it one time I did not say anything about it to the staff. I did point out upon check out that the commode had difficuly flushing. It did not overflow but simply did not drain. The front desk was extremely helpful when I had difficulty getting into my room on the second night of my stay. They did inform me that keeping my room key close to my credit cards might cause the key not to work. I will remember this for future trips.

Good Stay for Cheap

Confortable room for a one night stay. Very close to I-40. TV didnt have a remote control and the power button didnt work so in order to sleep with the TV off, I had to unplug it. The ironing board pad could have been cleaner. Other than that, it was a good stay for cheap.

misunderstood I guess

We took my elderly parents for a weekend to my brothers and decided on a kitchen suite so as to prepare coffee and some small items since they both are on meds and need to eat when they take their pills...well there was a kitchen area with no coffee offered, very little cooking items--who travels with pots and pans? There were no kleenex, no shampoos offered, no extra anything. In my parents room there was a terrible smell the first day and the edge of the rug was torn and they had to place a newspaper over it so as not to trip over it and fall. Their floors were extremely sticky with something. There was an iron and ironing board. Overall we would not stay there again.

Centrally Located

The location was perfect for what we had planned. The hotel was surrounded by a plethera of fast food restaurants, convenience stores and there were several shopping malls a short distance away. Our trip to Greensboro wasn't about the hotel experience so we were satisfied with the price per night. Overall, the room had a clean appearance. The room was spacious with ample drawers and closet space. The amenities were left to be desired...1 tiny bar of soap, 2 small bath towels, 2 face towels and 2 hand towels. The bath towels couldn't dry a small child let alone 2 adults. When we asked for more bath towels we were told we couldn't have anymore unless we handed in the ones already supplied in the room. That kinda defeats the purpose now doesn't it? We spent the weekend with the lid off the toilet, playing ameteur plumber. The hotel supplied an iron and ironingboard, and the kitchenette was a nice bonus - we were able to keep our beverages chilled. If you have a bad back and plan on staying at this hotel, have an appointment lined up with your chiropractor - the mattress was left to be desired.

Take an hour or 2 and visit the nearby park. The Greensboro Arboretum is just off of Market Street, which is a short drive from the hotel. Several walking paths enveloped with botanicals, bridges and a gazebo. Great place to kick back and have a picnic if you're into that sort of thing.

Never Again

First, the room had an odor. Second, there were not enough towels for all guests. Third, they did not have housekeeping. We had to go to the front dest to receive new towels, and had to bring our dirty ones back. If we wanted fresh sheets, they said that they would provide them, but we would have to do the actual changing of the sheets. Also, at 7:00 am for the first 2 days, we received wake up calls that we did not order. After going to bed at 3:00 am, this was not appreciated.
