Quiet, clean, basic decor. Convenient location for shopping and dining. I didn't have any trouble in this hotel.

The only staff we encountered were behind a glass enclosure In the lobby entry way. When we checked out not much better. We weren't really spoken to, other than them requesting the confirmation number and when they mouth our room number as we were handed the key. When checking out...similar exchange. The sheets were of a very poor quality, and the pillows were a loose foam rubber. The shower curtain rod was barely hanging on by a stripped screw. The desk clock was unplugged. Sort of had the feeling that perhaps the rooms should be rented by the hour. As far as positives - it did not smell like cigarette smoke, there was a remote for the TV, and there was an ice bucket with a plastic bag liner (though despite searching several times, could not find an ice machine).

Good enough for the price
The room was clean, but small. The heating/cooling unit worked, but needed repair. The room was very clean and smelled fine--neither perfume-y nor old odors. The continental breakfast was very meagre--coffee, two cereals, and two muffins. And white bread for toast. The staff, however, was lovely--very kind and respectful, very thoughtful. They were the best part of our stay.

Short drive from hotel
San Luis Rey II on High Point Rd. was just delicious and reasonably priced. Four of us ate for thirty-three dollars.

Cheap & Clean but no frills
I stayed here during a clinical rotation at an area hospital. As students we are always trying to find the cheapest place thats clean and safe! We spent a total of 6 nights in this hotel over a 2 week period. The rooms are clean and comfortable, however they aren't the most updated rooms. The location is good, close to the mall and many resturants, and was 5 mins from our clinical site. The staff was friendly, very accomodating...but due to lack of business (I think there might have been 3 other guest staying during both our trips) there was no complimentary breakfast. I'd stay here again just from simply a cost standpoint, the value can't be beat for just needing a place to lay my head.
