Only thing going is location

Stayed for weekend to visit son, lives near Duke. Good location to Duke. Staff is not happy to work there. We were the only ones in the lounge and restaurant both days. We had to find staff and then they acted as if they were bothered by us. Room was older but clean. They should close restaurant and lounge and just concentrate on the lodging.

Great location

Great location... Clearly an old hotel that needs some TLC. Very clean, but lumpy mattress and papery sheets. It perfectly met my needs and I was able to get it for $77 a night, excellent value.

Great location for Duke Hospital

Room was excellent. The first room was supposed to be a non-smoking room but some previous guests has obviously smoked which had not been picked up by the cleaning crew. They gave me another room which was excellent

Almost Perfect

The hotel is very close to Duke University campus. It has regular shuttles going to any campus building. To come back to the hotel, you just have to call them that they pick you up! All this service is free of any charge. The hotel itself is huge and very comfortable. That's only one point missing to reach perfection: you have to pay for the internet access (10 dollars for 24h access). This is so old-fashioned!

Very Comfortabe

I went to Duke to visit my daughter and found this hotel very convenient in relation to campus. They have ample parking, a shuttle , breakfast buffet, pool, workout room, very comfy beds and really nice staff. I will stay there every time I go to Durham. Last year I stayed in some place I think it was called Duke Towers and although it had a kitchen it was outdated and dirty feeling. Had no one on site unless you called someone and waited for them to come over. It was on the East campus side though so if you have freshman it is closer to east. But once your child is on West Campus The Millennium is the place to stay.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Stay here to be close to West Campus. I drove back and forth but it isn't too far to walk, not close but doable.

Solid Hotel near Duke

Staying at the Millennium allowed me to make frequent trips to the Duke campus for a friend's wedding. The hotel provided a solid stay - good-sized rooms and comfortable beds - better beds, for example, than the Sleep Number beds at some hotels.

Great Stay

I stayed there due to some appointments at the VA hospital. They were more than happy to give me a more expensive room than I booked to get internet access. All the staff was very friendly. I just wish the hot tub was a little Hotter (I like it scolding hot). Very close to a City Park. Very Comfortable Lounge. Food was reasonably priced and breakfast buffet was pretty good and had a large selection. Can't beat it at 70 dollars a night.

Convenient location, great hospitality!

The Millennium is located very near Duke's west campus with quick access on local roads. The neighborhood it's located in is very quiet. Also, it's not near the highway so there's no road noise. Service and hospitality was top notch from the door men to the brunch staff. The brunch buffet was reasonably priced and offered plenty of choices from fresh fruit to biscuits and gravy. The king bedroom was very large, probably could have fit 2 king beds. The bathroom could use a face lift - the tub enclosure felt flimsy underfoot - but everything was very clean. I prefer a very soft bed and this was just a little firm for me but I'm sure it would be more than comfortable for most people. I believe there are just two small restaurants in the hotel but there plenty more within a very short drive. This was my second stay here and would happily go back again.
