La Quinta Inn & Suites Durham Chapel Hill

The rooms were big and roomy, including the bath. It is bare bones as far as amentities, so bring your lotion, conditioner and etc.; you get shampoo and soap. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were great. I like that the windows slide open for fresh air. The rooms were clean but hallway carpet needed a good vacuuming. Breakfast was nice but would have liked some English muffins and not just bagels and loaf bread.

I have stayed here every Xmas for the past 5 years. The quality and service are consistent throughout.

The hotel was only minutes from the family we were visiting. There was tons of stuff to do near by and convenient to get any where in Durham. Only draw back was it sits on an access road and a U turn was involved when leaving the hotel which was a little hairy if you are not used to that. Lobby was attractively decorated for Christmas, breakfast was good, pool very clean (although a bit cool)Some rooms had a microwave/fridge. Ours did not. Would request that next time. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel was frankly choosen at the last minute because the hotel I would have normally stayed at was full. It was primarily selected because of its location (close to Duke University Medical Center), and because of the description here on the website. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised all the way around! Starting with the person who checked us in (she called to see if everything was to our liking!), to the very clean and nicely appointed room, to the quietness of the stay, and even the clean and manicured grounds and parking lot. Cudos La Quinta! Job well done!! I would definately recommend this particular location for your next stay in Durham.

We were there to check out college. UNC, Duke, and other schools are so close by. Use this little hotel to be your base as you move in your son/daughter. It is right on the main street to get you to Chapel Hill. Breakfast did not have a good selection, but in a pinch, it works! Friendly staff!! A room with 2 double beds is plenty big to store items for a future dorm. Pillows are mushy.

We traveled for a graduation and to visit with family, so we did not need the available entertainment. The pool was one of the amenities that we simply did not have time for. Overall, this place beats (hands down) almost every other place we have stayed in the past 4 years (over a dozen). The breakfasts were outstanding, room was clean, bed was more comfortable that almost all we have tried. We usually anticipate having a sore back in the morning when we are at a motel - not here - we were both very comfortable.

The commode seat was broken and that was pretty bad. Otherwise, everything was great. But the commode seat: yeech!!!
