Nice stay

Enjoyed the stay. Were in town for a wedding so didn't do a lot of other things. Hotel was very clean and nice. Price good. Restaurant was closed for renovations while we were there so had to find another place for breakfast.

Better than expected

I enjoyed my stay at the Blake. It is an obvious remodel but I think they did a good job. The pool was very nice but on my second day it was out of service. The staff was very nice and the place was clean. There was a huge temperature difference between the sink and shower. The water in the sink was very hot but almost lukewarm in the shower. The room could have used a fridge because the hotel restaurant was also closed. I spent most of my time downtown which was a short drive or long walk. Overall, I would visit the Blake again especially at Orbitz rates.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

I called ahead to see if I could have early check-in and the management allowed me to check in early at no additional cost.

The Blake Hotel

The renovated areas were very cool; other areas smelled musty. Pool was closed which was a major bummer; as was restaurant. Kind of inconvenient to say the least. Staff was friendly. Room was clean.

Fine hotel and location for the price

THe hotel has a brown modern decor. The hotel room had a very nice layout with quality furniture. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was a good sized flat screen. It is on the other side of downtown and you have to walk past the bus terminal and the arena in order to get to the downtown dining. Downtown dining is close though and a lot of options are available within the mile. Staff was friendly and quick for both check-in and check-out. The pool was closed though so there was not an opportunity to take advantage of what appeared to be a lounge around the pool area. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again as it was very nice and comfortable.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Get to wherever you want to go to dining by 9:30pm as downtown pretty much closes down during the weekday.

My second enjoyable stay

It was a difficult trip as a relative was very ill. The hotel gave us a truly restful experience. The staff was polite, knowlegeable and the next time we are in Charlotte we will probably stay at this hotel.

Blake Hotel

The staff is very friendly and helpful. All the ice machines were not functioning, so they had to bring us ice, but they were very fast, when called. You can tell the hotel building is just an older building that has been renovated. The beds and linen were not as comfortable as I would have liked. They provide you with 2 pillows on each bed, but when called, they brought up more with a smile. The restaurant inside the hotel closes early. It close 30 minutes before the time that is posted and that was not pleasant. Overall, this was an average experience. The great deal that orbitz provided woud make me want to go there again, but I would never pay full price to stay there. Hope this helps.

The Epicentre in Charlotte is excellent. It has shopping, dining, and entertainment all in one spot. Going there was the highlight of our trip!

Panthers Game

Very Nice Hotel. The hotel is huge and kept very clean. I have stayed here several times and each time the room has been spectacular. The rooms even have their own ipod dock and flat screen televisions. The hotel is a cheap cab ride from the downtown area and Panthers' stadium.

Horrible customer service!!!

I will never visit this hotel again!! Upon arrival I was not greeted by anyone, the employees seemed to ignore the fact that I stood there waiting to check in. The front desk clerk then took 15 minutes to find my reservation (which was booked prior to arrival) and did not acknowledge me at all. I attempted to order room service and no one ever answered at the front desk after calling 9 times!! No one informed me about the cost of parking (uptown hotel)"phase 2" hotel rooms"...outdated with a hint of updated furniture. Do not waste your money!!!

Blake Hotel Charlotte

This hotel is the old Adams Mark and it is just a used up old building.....some fancy furinture and a coat of paint can't change anything. Half the hotel still has the old Adams Mark carpet and decorations....The Pool was closed on a 90 degree day. The bar was pitiful.....The bartender was very nice. The showers have some sort of attempt at a euro nu-wave look with a half glass shower curtain that allows most of the water to soak the floor. And some kind of basin sink that splatters water all over you. The rooms are tiny and cramped.....the hallways were not air conditioned.....The staff refused to validate a friends parking pass for stopping by for 10 minutes. I would not stay here again if it was free.
