Disappointing for the price.
There are ice machines only on three floors and they were empty. There were no blow dryers in the rooms. Towels were small. I would not stay there again.

Good Stay for Football Game
I booked this hotel for a 1 night stay to see a Carolina Panthers game. It is very easy to get to from I277 and the entrance to I277 is only 2 blocks away. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very polite. We did not take advantage of the bar or restaurant. The location was good. It was about a 15 minute walk to the Epicenter and 20 minutes to BoA Stadium. The hotel does offer a free shuttle for drop off, but the weather was great so we walked. Parking is $13, but that is still cheaper than other hotels. We did leave our car on the lot after checkout, during the football game.

sc vs ecu at bank of america
i read the bad reviews online but it really wasnt a bad experience at all. the cable was out when i got there and the rooms dont get espn so that was a big negative. the pool and bar were nice. it was close enough to bank of america stadium and uptown charlotte. shuttle was nice and efficent. the customer service and desk staff was very helpful. the thing kepping me from rating it 4 stars instead of 3 is the cable issue, especially them not having espn...every hotel has espn (i thought)!

I should have listened to the reviews :(
Our experience at The Blake was extremely disappointing. It's absolutely false advertising when they label themselves as a "Luxury Hotel". My husband and I were so terribly disappointed and the issues we encountered ruined our trip. The lobby of the hotel is grand but everything else is a sham. The "renovations" are done in the most [*]manner you can imagine. We were checked into a room with many broken amenities including phone, drain and shower. It was a disaster. The price is right but you will be so disappointed, I wish I would have listened to the warnings :(

Definitely not my first Choice
While visiting friends in Charlotte decided to stay at the Blake Hotel because the Hilton only had a room available for one day, friday, while I was going to be there for Friday and Saturday. Entering the hotel was nice and it had an upscale look however once getting to the room it was kind of upsetting. It does look like the pictures online however there is a reason they dont show the bathroom. The bathroom was ancient beware there is a night club on the first floor of the hotel and the bathrooms are not sound proof. The cleaning service knocked on the door and woke me up two mornings in a row and you have to pay for parking which is a bit ridiculous. Its not the absolute worst but I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

Alomst There
I stayed at the hotel for a business trip and overall the experience was OK but to be honest based on it's proximity, online pictures, and it's size the Blake should be in direct competition with the "big time" hotels but it just isn't. Pardon the expression but I got the feeling that it seemedo like a "polished [*]". It does have some nice design feature but it seemed as if they just painted and wallpapered over a previously not so good hotel. The breakfast was similar to a $49 a night FREE continental breakfast but cost $10...not even a waffle maker:( The front desk staff was not very educated on different packages they offered. The internet lounge has PC's that we littered with spam and personal files. There is a goofy glass window in the bathtub that you have to akwardly move around to turn on the water. There was no towel hook, the housekeeping staff forgot things like replacing coffee each night, pulling the tub drain after they cleaned, replacing towels on the ground. The room itself was actually OK but the alarm clock and iron were terrible. With all that said I paid around 1$20 per night and in a downtown setting that's not too bad but I do want to be honest and say that they in y opinion they need to step up to stay in business for the log haul.

Never Again!!!
I stayed at this hotel for New Years Eve. The location is great it's right uptown very close to the clubs and the nightlife....that is about the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. It has the appearance of an old haunted hotel, it was very dimly lit and the elevators are old and shaky. My fiance was almost closed in the doors of the elevator because they have not been upgraded with sensors. The check in process was very slow and there at the check in desk I found out there counter I found out that the guest have to pay to park. There was the scent of vomit in the hallway and the only new thing in the room was the flat screen tv. To end my stay at the hotel I woke up to a bunch of ants crawling around the room and the door handle, when I reported this to the front dedk I was informed that 1 it was cold and that was probably the reason they were in my room and 2 there was nothing they could do....oh he did offer us continental breakfast (which was someting that already came with us booking this room) but he then told us that we missed it. Overall this hotel is too expensive to be as shabby as it is. I do not recommend anyone to stay here.

Poor compared to other choices
Hotel was dated. Staff wass not very efficient - I had to remind them I had a package with breakfast and Internet access. The tub was ONLY hot water, no cold. The HVAC was old and loud. I wouldn't stay there again unless it was the only chice in Charlotte.

Stayed there for a collage football game! Game was great VT won! This hotel is far the action a good 20 min. walk to the action. It was a short wait for the room. The hotel bar is very nice. Very cute female bartenders and on top of the crowd that was at the bar. For the wait got an upgrade to a room with a balcony. COOL!!
