Econo Lodge & Suites

I am in the military and travel many times throughout the year and have stayed in every level of hotel. I was not expecting much from the econolodge due to the cost. I was disappointed though since surrounding hotels were same price and I have had better results from them. The first thing when I got there it took several minutes for the clerk to acknowledge me even though she was sitting right in front of me. Once she did she was not very pleasant. Upon entering the room I found it to be acceptable but did not appear to be very clean. I spent almost 30 minutes on hold with technical support only to be told to call back later. When I did call back I spent 22 minutes on hold and was disconnected. The ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floor were broke and the pool said it was closed for cleaning the entire time yet nobody was seen cleaning it. I would not recommend this hotel since there are so many near by that are much better for the same price!

The room was comfortable and reasonable, good central location.

Economic and decent for a one night stay next to the airport.

I went for the Memorial Day Race Week and the location was great (if you don't mind the highway next to you). It was 7 minutes from the airport 9 minutes to Downtown, and 18 minutes to Charlotte Motor Speedway. The hotel was average, nothing special but for the amount of time I spent in it, it was perfect. I would recommend this for a group of guys going for race weekend, as for a family stay, only because I have kids I'd look somewhere else in the area.

The Econo Lodge & Suites is probably one of the most convenient places to stay if you need to overnight close to the Charlotte Airport. Their rates are very reasonable; they have a shuttle that can both pick you up at the airport, and take you back the next day; and they have a pretty decent free continental breakfast that starts before 6:00 AM. The only negative to the place is the noise factor. The side that I was on faced a major highway, and the room was not very sound proofed. If you're tired enough to sleep through the noise, it's just fine.

service was ok could clean rooms earlier should of had a book in rooms of servces offered and local places to dine

Economical hotel near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

It was very convient to the airport where I was able to put my guest,the rooms were clean;bathrooms linen.The staff was cordial upon arrival.I guess the only flaw I would see was the balcony was kinda shaky with age..The Wi-fi works great there as well!!

This is the first trip I've taken since I've started useing insulin, and since I've had my knee and back surgeries. I looked forward to the trip and at the same time was a little nervous. When I arrived, I was early and the original room that I'd asked for evidently wasn't available. They did set me up with a nice king sized bed, it also had plenty of hand rails in the bathroom. That was a big plus ! The noise from the interstate traffic I thought was going to keep me up but didn't. The sheets were crisp and clean, for that matter all of it was very clean. The only detraction from the whole room was a crack in the corner and not having the mini-fridge for storing my insulin. They did privide me with plenty of ice though, so I made do. Being able to have breakfast included with the price of the room was also a big time and money saver. They had hot & cold cereals, sausage biscuits,bananas, skim & regular milk. They had various breads & croisants for the toaster. A waffle maker and batter to make your own waffles. There was fresh hot coffees, and hot water for tea. It made for a relaxing start to the day. The fitness room was a bit small but well stocked with equipment. The pool was a dissapointment There was only about 10" of water, and that was dark green and had trash in it. The next day though, they started cleaning it up, I didn't get the opportunity to use it. There was a wasp nest behind the exit sign on the 2nd floor by the pool stairs. In all my time was relaxing and restful. The staff and security there was a shining example of what hotel staff should be. They have a reason to be proud of themselves.

Charlotte NC Econo provided excellent value for a dollar. Room clean, properly working TV, comfortable king bed, non smoking, good continental breakfast.
