Nice remodel
It had been a few years since I stayed at this location. They have remodeled the lobby area and the improvements are great! It offers a good place for breakfast or a later day beverage. There are quieter places to read or talk. There is also a new computer area with 4 computers available. The halls and rooms are looking tired, so I hope they will get attention too.

Good and not so good
Upon check in we needed a rest before going to an event, people in the courtyard were very loud and it was hard to block them out. The toilet flushed constantly and we had to take the cistern top off and tweak it ourselves every time we flushed. The hotel offered to move us to another room as they had no maintenance personnel on duty, but we didn't have time before our event. The towels were very thin. Beds were comfortable.

Okay if you like marshmallows
This hotel has had a make-over since I last stayed there. The rooms are pretty with a big flat panel TV, but they're more like my bedroom than a useful hotel room. They've done away with luggage racks. There was no place to put our 2 suitcases except on the floor. There was no fridge or microwave, breakfast was NOT included with the room... all things you don't think about until you're there for a holiday weekend. Worst of all was the "new" mattress - so soft it was like sleeping in an overheated marshmallow. Backaches every morning. Ugh. There are lots of hotels in the area. We'll be staying elsewhere next time.

Breakfast at the Original Pancake House - about 1 mile away - beats the overpriced cardboard breakfast available at the hotel. Ask the front desk how to get there. It's excellent.

Older hotel, but nicely renovated...
It's an older hotel, however the rooms were nicely renovated and comfortable...especially the bed! My husband has a bad back and usually gets up alot during the night, however even he comfortably slept through the night. The property was clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

It's a Roof Over One's Head
Other than not having a full service restaurant, I could have paid an extra $20 to receive a "free" breakfast buffet that would have cost $9.95 - that is a disturbingly crooked business practice, one on which I intend to verify. Average hotel, nothing to write home about. No additional concerns. One point of credit: when leaving for the day after having the "do not disturb" sign on the door, I did return to a clean/made up room (upon letting the front desk know I needed that service).
