Charlotte Plaza Uptown Hotel

Really enjoyed the staff friendliness, customer service oriented attitude, hotel's gym, shuttle service and many others little details that make a huge impression.

This was our first time in Charlotte to visit family. Hotel was close to them and easily accessible (except when some of the downtown streets were blocked off). We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but found it to be neat, clean and quiet. We love animals and were tickled to see several guests with their dogs in tow. Too cold to use the pool and we never needed the shuttle because of family members with cars, although that was a nice perk. We did borrow a car one night and were a little shocked to find it cost $15/night to park at the hotel. Luckily they were kind enough to waive that for us for just the one night. Breakfast was good in the restaurant, although the staff there wasn't all that personable. The desk clerks, on the other hand, were very nice and helpful. Lots of interesting things close by to see (museums, monuments, arenas, etc.) - within walking distance, if you're a the walking type - but we rode everywhere in cars with family. Very comfortable, satisfactory hotel. We would stay there again.

We reserved a king bed with a sleeper sofa, when we got to our room the king bed was there, but no sleeper sofa. The staff was nice, but we had to move to a room with 2 double beds. We went from the back to the front of the hotel. The room was fine, but the sleeping arrangements weren't as planned and the traffic noise was high. Plus the hotel charged us $15.00 per day to park in their lot. We had a great time at the NHRA drag race, but we won't use the same hotel next time.

Front desk, shuttle driver, wait staff were all exceptionally friendly! However, our room smelled smoky and did not have a balcony which was promised. Because we were on our way to a Checkers game, we were too short on time to ask for another, but I'm certain the staff would have taken care of it. The beds were quite comfortable.

Hotel was excellent. Check-in and check-out were rapid, service was couteous by all I came in contact with, and the room was spacious (had a balcony on a 9th floor room) and clean. It was a downtown hotel with all the amenities you expect from a top hptel, and with a 10 min walk to the Time Warner Center for a Bobcats game.

This hotel is close to everything. I thought the amenities were comparable to most hotels. I really liked the room. The beds were incredibly comfortable with lots of pillows and down comforter. Hotel staff were excellent-the best feature of The Crowne Plaza.

just one night to explore the city of Charlotte. There are other hotels that are closer to the nightlife, but this one worked just fine for me. It's located in a quiet area of town next to the courthouse and other government buildings, so it is really dead.

I attended the John Edward event on Saturday evening. The event room was well laid out and easy to manuever and to see him. My hotel room (#711) was very roomy, spotless and quiet. However, someone needs to check the stability of the TV - I went to swivel it to watch from the chair and it tipped like it was about to fall over. I'm sure that just a screw or something on the mounting is loose but it needs to be checked.
