Good location outside the University. Resaurants are all downtown the best I could find. There is a nice bar and dinning area for breakfast at this location that features a Starbucks coffee shop.

Excellent Service
[...]- Customer Service Rep greeted me at check-in with warmth in her smile. She checked me and within minutes, however took the time to ask about my stay.After she learned I was in the area for a job interview, she took it upon herself to provide me with a local map, a short-cut to reach my destination, as well as places to see and eat while I was in town. She treated me like her niece.The hotel was extremely clean and quite. I highly recommend this facilty when traveling in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro, North Carolina area.

This area is easy to navigate, by either walking for short car ride. Great variety of places to eat; I chose Top of the Hill; had a great time walking around UNC after dinner.

The worst hotel in years
The hotel is undergoing renovations and looks tired. Most of the amenities are not available or compromised. Stayed 3 nights, but the room was not made up for the third night. When I enquired why, I was told that it must be my mistake. They then sent up towels and sheets and told us to make up the room ourselves

great stay!
Pros: The hotel is very nice inside, good location (close to UNC campus!), lots of parking, quiet area. The room was spacious, comfortable bed and pillows, big tv, big bathroom, free wifi, etc. Tons of after-hours snacks downstairs the hotel, a microwave, frozen dinners, drinks (even beer). Cons: The room itself wasn't awfully quiet and walls were a little too thin, but it never got ridiculous or to the point where I couldn't sleep. WiFi was very slow, though free.

New, clean, reasonable
I'd consider the Courtyard Mariott Chapel Hill your best bet for local accomodations, especially if you want something more reasonably priced. It's close to UNC-Chapel Hill campus and right across the street from the Meadowmont development, which is one of those suburban shopping/dining/housing neighborhoods. I haven't found the staff particuarly warm or accomodating, but they were somewhat efficient during our check-in process so that was fine.
