Our experience was good. We wanted and received a handicapped accessible room; however, there were 3 steps to get into room which was a little difficult. We had a double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed had no sheets, blankets or pillows so we called front desk. A bottom sheet and a blanket was brought to our room and we said we would share the pillows from the bed. The restaurant inside the motel was nice and had good food. We would visit there again when returning to Chapel Hill.

Pretty good value, don't expect much
Pretty good value hotel, close to UNC campus and Franklin Street. Even though we had a non-smoking room, we could still smell smoke because we were adjacent to smoking rooms. Not a bad place to stay for only one night but any longer might get uncomfortable.

Franklin Street is only a short drive away - maybe 2 miles or so. Great restaurants and shops on that street!

Perfect place for a perfect sleep.
I enjoyed staying at the University Inn. It was easy to find, and my room was impecable. I slept so well and enjoyed my stay. I will be returning in the near future and will stay at the same place. Thanks for the recommendation.

Good overall stay and as a UNC fan I liked the Carolina touches everywhere. The hotel is dated but clean and the staff was helpful. Only issues were for some reason on the second day the maid left no washcloths so there were none and I had some issues connecting to the free wifi.

Awesome Value
Dont let the low price fool you...this is a great place to stay. We visited to go to a Tarheel game. My husband and I loved the sports theme. Hotel staff was so nice and incredibly helpful. Rooms werent anything extraordinary but they were clean and comfortable. The location was great with a Trader Joes, Starbucks, and restaurants within walking distance and the mall less than a mile away. The attached sports bar was convenient but the service was lousy. All in all it was a great place to stay and we will be staying again on our next trip to Chapel Hill.

Short drive from hotel
Go to Time Out Restaurant (sister to attached sports bar) for one of their famous chicken cheddar biscuits. It has been featured on Man vs Food and definitely lives up to its hype! They are open 24/7 but it is perfect for breakfast. The biscuit was huge and we were stuffed well past lunch time!

Convenient but average
Convenient location with friendly staff. Did not realize that this was motel-type lodging. Rooms showed age and were smaller than average but clean with comfortable beds. Complimentary items (shampoo, soap) had not been restocked before arrival.

Convenient , comfortable, reasonable.
Physically very comfortable, right location for me -- next to shopping mall. Bus stop on frequent buses to other major Triangle locations including Durham station.

Good price for good location
This hotel is located near a shopping center with plenty of dining opportunities. It's also located on a bus line and includes a shuttle, so the access to downtown is simple. The staff were friendly and the room was nicer than expected though still not outstanding. I would recommend staying at this hotel for a visit to Chapel Hill.

Great service, mediocre rooms
This establishment is really a motel with a guest check-in building. The rooms are older, and they have the old motel smell. There is nothing wrong with the rooms, but don't expect extravagance.
