Good all round hotel, friendly staff and relatively close to App. State. Avoid the rooms overlooking the Lowes parking lot, the night I stayed they had very early morning deliveries.

Great location Attentive staff
My wife and I were mostly pleased with the amenities with the exception of the too soft mattresses which resulted in both of us having backaches. We were pleased with the b,reakfast bar, location and the very attentive staff.

Great location
The beds are great. The breakfast is good pancakes, eggs, biscuits & gravy etc. The only bad thing was our key would not work. But would definitely stay again.

Needed a p[lace to stay in a hurry
I had known about the hotel for years. My family lives in Boone and the surrounding areas (Banner Elk/Blowing Rock) We were there for a family funeral and there was not going to be enough space in the available homes to put everyone up. I started checking for timeshare units (because we own 10 of them), but there were none availble where we would liked to stay. Then I started looking at hotels and remembered the Holiday Inn (and it was close to the church). We booked it knowing in advance that we were getting everything we were asking for. We have stayed in Holiday Inn's before, and can usually trust the name. This one was just what we wanted.

Going for the Kids
Only as a last resort
We booked this hotel to take our son skiing at Appalachian Ski Mtn (which was a fantastic experience!) but this hotel is another matter. It is fairly new and clean and has a decent breakfast buffet but is favored by high school and church groups which keeps it filled with rowdy teens on every floor. We paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi tub we couldn't use because the hotel does not have an adequate supply of hot water. Housekeeping never bothered to clean our room on the second day of our stay. We will not be returning to this hotel. Too much aggravation!

holiday inn express boone sucked
vending machine on our floor did non work,heat in room did not work well,bath tub stoped up,wi-fi did not work,lost power,breakfast not as good as usual,few more nick nacks,orbitz did not save us any money
