Excellent staff
Yes, the room as clean and comfortable, but the staff was exceptional. The check-in was easy and positive, and very patient when I was greeted by my daughter who hasn't seen me for 4 months. We were greeted every time we came in, and even offered umbrellas. It's drippy some days in Boone.... While more expensive than other hotels in the area, it was worth it and I hope to stay there again.

Short drive from hotel
The Red Onion Cafe was lovely. Very knowledgable and personable staff and the food was just perfect. Have the dessert... Trust me.
