Sheraton Atlantic Beach Oceanfront Hotel

Nice location and beach. Hotel has indoor/outdoor pool and a fun casual restaurant on the pool on one side and a pier on the other side. Was disappointed that our room was not serviced when we returned from a day on the beach at 2:15pm and had to request towels. The room was never cleaned/serviced. Employee Ruthie was fabulous in offering recommendation on things to do/places to eat.

Overall was good. All employees were very professional but the maintenace did lack follow-up. The a/c leaked water nor cooled the entire stay and the wall recepticle between the beds arched fire. The problems were reported twice, during my stay but not repaird. I was satisfied with my stay and will stay again but but the lack of follow-up with that type of items could cause the next person to stay with a competitor. They advertise as being a year round hotel, but their staff is lacking at this time. Breakfast in the restaurant took forever. One server for about 8 groups of people. The meal wasn't served all at once, missing toast and pancakes had to wait for it. Then no syrup had to wait for it. Towels were to be provided at the pool area, no towels available. So we had to walk to the room in wet clothes. Put in a work order for plumbing. Never came until I asked a second time. I had a package deal booked online but when I got there they tried to charge an $11.95 per person resort fee until I pointed it out to them. This fee is usually charged this time of year even though most of the fee is for summer time activities. The staff was nice and helpful but this was not up to the standards of other Sheraton's I have stayed at.

The hotel was fine except for one important thing--they charged me a resort fee that was not disclosed when I checked in. Also they said that the fee included coverage for parking and for access to wireless parking. However, when I checked in they said parking was free. Also, when I tried to access wireless there was a charge of 9.99 for access. I do not like places that are deceptive like they were.

We wanted to get away just the two of us, leaving our three under 12 children at home with their Grandparents (they were still in school anyway). We decided to go last weekend in May so that spring break crowd would be gone and the out of school family crowd would not be there yet. We had just what we wanted. Middle aged group of fun people to hang out with to drink and eat, plus plenty of relaxing at the beach and pool. Memorial Day weekend (the Thursday prior) was the kick off to summer night and day live entertainment. Great music and fun. Would do it again!

Great location. Right on the beach & has a nice pool. Very relaxing. I walked right on the beach & there are many stores nearby for anything needed. Room service menu has no healthy choices and is somewhat limited.

I guess my only complaint was the price, which was very high for what this hotel offers. It's right on the beach, etc., but it feels a bit rundown and out of date. I've stayed at great hotels in this price range, so it was a bit of a surprise. Do not expect more than a 3-star experience.
