Valentines Day Trip
When I checked in I was shocked when the clerk told me I would be charged an additional $22 "resort fee" on top of what I already paid. Not sure what a resort fee is for but something like that should have been built into the price. I feel like its dishonest to charge a fee beyond the room fee for something I had no choice in paying for. I was also told they would put a $50 hold on my debit card for incidentals. When I inquired about using the hot tub I was told I had to purchase a Spa pass but they did not have any available. The room was nothing special and had a very small bathroom. My window view looked straight into the side of the hill. The room was very dated and is serious need of being updated. Parking was a considerable hassle. The staff was very pleasant and professional. Overall I felt like the value was not comensurate with the amount I paid for the room.

Historic Hotel doesn't mean Perfect Experience
The Grove Park Inn is a beautiful hotel renowned for its view of the Blue Ridge Mountains but my experience was not a great one. The water ran all over the bathroom floor and was a less than relaxing bathing experience. What a mess. I would never go back at these prices - the view just isn't worth it.

Great Value for a Lovely Room
The Grove Park Inn is a lovely Inn with a warm and inviting great room that you see upon entry - the perfect place to read a book, have a cocktail, people watch our simplhy enjoy a cup of coffee. We stayed in the discount room which was quaint, clean, comfortable and above all charming. We ate in the five star restaurant Horizons, on site that that had impeccable service and out of this world food. Service both at the Inn and at the restaurant was superburb. The excellent, onsight workout facility was accessible via a walk through the parking lot. Regardless of the floor you stay on, visit all the floors to read all of the interesting information displayed on the walls - fun to see who has stayed at the Inn.

Wonderful mountain getaway
The Grove Park Inn was every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be. The room was comfortable with all that I could need and the spa and food were truly delightful. I would highly recommend this hotel/spa to anyone and if you want to splurge and really be pampered, it is the place to go. I would go again in a heartbeat! I loved my stay at this hotel and look forward to my next one.
