Hilton Head Return

Horrible experience. Bad part of town. Locked when we arrived. Had to call to get let in. Warnings posted to "not leave any valuables in car" and "don't walk down hallways alone". Deadbolts top and bottom. Mold in the tub. Hole in the wall. Unacceptably dirty. Hair on the sheets when we pulled covers back. This is a bad name for your company and for this hotel. I would like a refund.

Dirty Room

Entrances to building were dirty which concerned me on arriving. Bathroom seemed to be old but clean and beds were made up. Went to crawl into bed and sheets had not been changed--hair in both beds! Had to get clean ones. Man at desk only mildly apologetic. Next morning in better light we could see the bedroom area had not been swept--food and toenail clippings on floor! Building is old but not well cleaned or maintained. Cereal, pastries at breakfast were stale. We found other hotels on our trip that had rooms for the same price and were clean and well maintained. This Howard Johnson Hotel was NOT worth the price we paid!

Good location, cold AC, dated and drab decor

The location is great... close to downtown and Biltmore Estate. The design and decor is very outdated and the hallways are a bit dim and dank. The rooms were clean and the AC was very cold. Bottom line... If you're looking for a cheap place to stay near everything in Asheville, it's a decent option.

Swimming Pool is still empty...

The hotel was easy to access from the highway and each room has a balcony or patio. We knew the pool had been closed a month prior to our visit, but expected it to have been re-opened by mid-July. No signs of any attempts to fix and fill. The continental breakfast was weak but they do have fresh fruit in the back...ask for it! Staff was nice. Great location - very close to the Biltmore estate.

Good stay, but expensive!

I should have known that Asheville int he Fall would be expensive as far as hotels go. It was a nice stay about 15 minutes from downtown and really close to the Biltmore village. Turning onto Hendersonville road was a bit tricky every time we left the hotel, but we had a nice time.
