Great getaway
We were extremely satisfied with everything; Lobby and Breakfast/Dinner room elegant and cozy; we had the 1-bedroom suite - it was very large und super clean. Best Mattress we have ever had in a Hotel. Breakfast and dinner (included unlimited wine and beer and other beverages) was very good. Staff exceptional helpful and friendly. Our next stay in Asheville will defenitely be at Homewood Suites again. We already recommended it to our friends.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful!
We spent a week at Homewood Suites. We spent more on this hotel than we ever had before, but it more than paid for itself. Between the huge, delicious breakfast buffet and a terrific supper, we spent zero on food the entire week! It was comfortable, quiet, clean, and friendly. We will definitely look for this hotel wherever we vacation!

Simple the best!
Even before we checked in we were introduced to their outstanding service. When we arrived, there were no spaces available in the parking lot. One of the desk workers offered to move his car, so we could have a parking space. Throughout our stay every employee greeted us with a smile and a warm comment. The breakfast area was clean and full of a delicious variety of foods each day. Even though it was not overly crowded we saw a member of management helping the other staff members maintain the seating area while greeting guests. When we inquired about the location of points of interest, the desk staff offered convenient written directions and even discount coupons.

Great Stay
My wife and I went to Asheville for a retreat. We spent the weekend in the hotel to plan our next year. We chose this hotel because it was a suite room. The staff were great, the rooms were clean & quiet. The gym was small but very clean and nice. The pool was small but we didn't use it and never saw more than 2 people in it at a time. Free breakfast was great. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it. Several nice restaurants were close too.

Mixed Emotions
We stayed at the Tunnel Road Homewood Suites from Thursday until Sunday through New Year's weekend. This hotel had a lot of potential, and there was a lot of good aspects of our stay...but sadly there were several bad aspects as well, and unfortunately the bad always seems to blot out the good. The Good: The management staff was top notch. I went to the front counter and a member of management helped me with some of my trip planning. He printed me out a list of local restaurants with information about each one, which was great. He was extremely helpful and was responsible for some of the great places we ended up visiting. The hotel itself is in a great location, just outside of the downtown Asheville area and right near about 30 restaurants and a nice sized shopping mall, and also right off the highway. The room was very nice, and it had a full kitchen including a stove, microwave, sink, and dishwasher. It was also very clean, which is a big deal for us. The facilities are pretty nice too. They have a nice little gym, and a very nice indoor pool. I wish we had brought our bathing suits! The Bad: Even though my experience with management (and some of the other staff) was very good, there were two separate incidents where the staff was not only unhelpful, but flat out rude. When we arrived, it was too early to check in, so there was no room ready for us, which is understandable. They were willing to hold our bags for us, which was good enough. Our 11 month old daughter, without going into detail, badly needed a diaper change, but the bathrooms had no changing station. We approached the man at the front desk and asked him if there was a place we could take her to change her and he basically said, "Well, you can't change her here in the lobby. Can't you just go and change her in your car?" Bear in mind that it was about 25 degrees outside. Not a good place for a naked infant. My wife was upset, but still the man offered no solution. She had to take the baby into the women's room and change her clumsily over the sink. Later in the trip, we had to come back to the room early because the baby had gotten sick and needed to have a bath and get changed. Our room hadn't been cleaned yet and we had no clean towels. Down the hall was a housekeeper who was about to begin cleaning another room. My wife stopped him and asked if he wouldn't mind cleaning our room next because we had a sick child and really needed the clean towels and sheets so she could take a nap. He said he would be there after he finished the room he just started. Time passed and he never showed up, so my wife found a different housekeeper and asked her about it. She said she'd let the man know right away. We had the door propped opened, and a couple of minutes later right outside the door we over heard them talking. She said, "Hey, these people here need their room cleaned. Do you mind doing their room next?" He replied something like, "I'm sick of this! I've been hearing this same thing all day. Everyone is sick and needs special treatment!" My wife stepped outside the room and said, "I'm so sorry we're inconveniencing you with our sick child...don't worry about cleaning the room. Just give me some fresh towels and that will be fine." He then said, "Fine, but I need your dirty towels back." No apology. I actually saw him acting rude to another couple earlier that day as well. One other negative was the breakfast. It could have just been what was on the menu that day though. They have something different for breakfast every day, which is pretty cool...but the one day we ate in it wasn't the greatest in my opinion.

The first night we were in Asheville we ate at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Company. They are a small craft brewery and restaurant, and they are great at doing both! The place is awesome if you have kids. There is a giant game room and movie theater you can toss the kids in while you eat and have a few drinks. It's a great place to check out for adults as well.

Best stay for the money
Attended a Workshop in Asheville with clients. I found the suite to be spacious enough for three people with room to work alone on business when necessary. The staff was helpful and pleasant at all times. Suite was clean and attractive and everything was available that we needed make the stay very enjoyable. The daily hot breakfast buffets and the four evening buffets were excellent.

Convenient location, cozy accommodations
My boyfriend and I were in town for the MoogFest music festival. The hotel was in walking distance from downtown (well, we consider 1.5 miles to be walking distance), plus it offered free van rides with in 5 miles until 10 pm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and very comfortable, and we loved having a full kitchen.

The Laughing Seed Cafe is a delightful vegetarian/vegan restaurant at 40 Wall Street. If you have never tried vegan food or have had bad experiences with bland, boring vegan food, then you must try this restaurant. It will change your mind about cruelty-free cuisine!
