Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites ASHEVILLE DOWNTOWN

-Staff was useless/incompetent (except in the restaurant) -Dirty, musty, wet bathroom (before we used it) -Carpet was wet around bathroom door -Noisy at all hours I do not know how this hotel has received so many positive reviews. This place was awful. We had stayed at another Asheville hotel (Hotel Indigo) the weekend before and LOVED it and would have stayed there again but it was sold out.

Roof AC units on the hotel roof made the room very noisy. Do not stay in a room on the 6th floor. I assume lower rooms are better.

My main complaint was that I thought since the hotel is called the Holiday Inn Ashville Downtown that it would be within walking distance to downtown. Maybe it is for people who like to hike; in the rain. Also, although there was coffee in the room, it was not a sufficient amount. Especially in the morning. There was no coffee available in the lobby. I would have appreciated breakfast of some kind. On the possitive side. The rooms were clean and very nice. The hotel staff was friendly and efficient although I didn't have much contact.

First time in Asheville; location was a little questionable looking (surrounding restaurants included a Cracker Barrel and a Dairy Queen) and there is a sketchy looking "motel" directly facing the pool of the Holiday Inn. Was also a little put off when told by the bartender that I had to take my glass of wine to my room and that I couldn't "walk around the hotel with it." Uh, okay...because of the high end clientele? Whatever.

Staff was indifferent, not very helpful.

The room was clean but the staff was a little rude. Not the hospitality we were expecting. Also not walking distance from Asheville like some reviews say.

Leisure trip. hotel very clean and the staff very helpful. The immediate surroundings not the most attractive. Few minutes drive to downtown Asheville (which is what I wanted); hotel description quite misleading when it appears to indicate you can walk to downtown. You can, of course, but it will be a VERY LONG WALK. Swimming pool quite small, more for kids to splash around than really swim.

JOHNBOY & BILLY COMEDY CLASSIC WEEKEND. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY THAT WAS NOT GOOD ABOUT THE HOTEL WAS THE BED, IT WAS LIKE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR AND THE PILLOWS WERE SO SOFT THAT THEY WENT FLAT WHEN YOU LAID YOUR HEAD DOWN.

The Holiday Inn was very nice. Located close to downtown and close enough to the Biltmore Estate which was the reason for our visit.

I enjoyed the room, the service, the great breakfasts, and the nice lobby. Overall this is a great place to stay. Two small disappointments were that the pool area was compromised by cold air from the outside. This is winter and a pool area should be warm. The water temperature in the rooms was variable. Sometimes it was hard to get hot water and sometimes there was a blast of hot water when you did not want it.
