A bit worn around the edges

This was a convenient place to stay - on the main drag not far from either the Biltmore or the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. It was a bit shop worn with frayed carpet but clean and comfortable.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Be sure to see the Museum of Arts and Crafts on the Blue Ridge Parkway - great displays and wonderful gift shop. Ask about a coupon for the Biltmore Estate at the North Carolina Welcome Center. It helps with the cost of the entrance fee. Plan to spend the whole day at the estate!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

The only problem we encountered was the thermostat on the heating unit didn't seem to be working. Even on the lowest "heat" setting, it stayed a little too warm for us all night.

"The good, the bad, and the ugly"

Good location for dining, shopping, sightseeing. Dated appearance outside. Outdated heating/cooling system. Good attempt to make room accessible, however, some features need redesign. Sink & counter too high for standard wheelchair. Drain needed in center of bathroom. Roll-in shower would be better than current setup. Clothes closet inaccessible. Bed comfortable. Requested two double bed, accessible room with late check-in. Will no longer use [...] for booking since this is a continuing problem. What you book is not what you get regardless of reservation lead time. Room was invaded by ants. Staff dealt with problem immediately, but this is apparently an ongoing problem with ants moving from room to room.

not the best experience

The room was musty, the heater made an annoying buzzing noise constantly, the refrigerator also made a noise until we unplugged it, the remote for the television did not work and the breakfast although plentiful the hot items were rather cold and the biscuits could have given rocks a run for their money and when I complained about the heater, remote, hair in the bathtub, and poor quality of food on breakfast i was treated like an unhappy tourist. worst part was that I actually worked at this very hotel 10 years ago and then it was a holiday inn and now I can see why they lost their status.

Room at Days Inn

We had a room with a King size bed. The hotel is older and updates have not been done. It was like they never went the extra mile for their clients. The description told us there was a fitness area, we never found it. The pool is outside and really depends on the weather. The description also mentioned a restaurant with the Hotel. It is actually 3 blocks down the street.

Good breakfast and an overpriced hotel

This was an alright motel, but definitely not worth the $120 we paid for it. The beds were a box spring with a futon mattress on top so we slept terribly, towels were very rough, door opened to the parking lot so we were woken multiple times to people coming in late and road noise. I looked at the reviews on this before going and it sounded 'good for the price' but that was not how my husband and I felt. We should have paid the extra cash to get a true hotel or stayed farther from downtown (which was not a quick walk from this hotel anyway). For people who want to stay out all night then crash at a hotel nearby this isn't a bad place, and the breakfast Sat morning was awesome. The room was clean but rough with a crack down one wall, the phone didn't work, the shower head was coming out of the wall (in a very small shower) and light fixtures were rusting. Anyone looking for even a semi-romantic get away should look for something else.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Biltmore Village is 8 min from the hotel if you don't go through downtown.
