Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Asheville I-240-Tunnel Road (Asheville Mall), NC

The location of this hotel is near downtown which is great. Asheville has the best vegetarian restaurants you will find in NC, maybe even in the southeast. The hotel is just blah, I was expecting more. The breakfast was so so, but better then the subpar continental fare (why is it call continental, is should be basic or something of that nature). I stayed at the a "resort" in Asheville before and I was on the 1st floor it was a horrible experience, you can hear everything in the next room and in the hall.

Excellent choice in terms of location and cleanliness for the price.

Went to Asheville for a wedding at Biltmore. Stayed two nights at Country Inn. Liked the non-smoking policy for the whole building and grounds. Staff unbelievably friendly. Hotel was full, and I don't know what to do about noisy guests. Room walls were thick, however, so that helped. Fitness center could use a better elliptical machine. Breakfast could use real half and half, not the powdered stuff with hydrogenated oil. Overall, I'd stay again, for sure.

Our first visit at this facility was five years ago, three days after initial opening. We return each spring to ride the Appalachian Mountain roads on our motorcycles. The staff is very accommodating, the rooms predictably very nice, and the location serves our purpose well.

The room was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed. The indoor pool was great and the water nice and warm. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

This Country Inn and Suites was great! It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. It is only moments from downtown and the Grove Park Inn make this the perfect spot for Asheville! The breakfast was wonderful!

The Country Inn and Suites by Carlton on Tunnel Road in Asheville was very comfortable and clean. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff that we encountered were all very pleasant. The indoor pool is small, but when my family went to the pool, it was not crowded and my children enjoyed their swim.The complimentary breakfast buffett was above average and the attendant keep every item well stocked, even as the time deadline for the day was approaching. My children enjoyed the fresh baked complimentary cookies that were kept in the lobby and my husband and I enjoyed the 24 hour coffee in the lobby. Our only concern was a group of homeless men that hung out at the end of the parking lot. As we drove in the parking lot for the first time to check in, we notice three men next to the parking lot sitting under a tree drinking alcohol. My husband alerted the desk clerk, who had already called the police. The next day,we arrived back at the hotel after a day of sightseeing and there was a man passed out at the edge of the parking lot and it was difficult to see if he was actually alive or not. Again, the desk clerk said she had already called the police and they had asked the man to move on and he had only moved from one side of the parking lot to the other. She called the police again and ,finally, they came and escorted three men off the property. The hotel staff was great in dealing with this, but I'm not sure if this is a continuing problem or if these guys just happened upon this parking lot the weekend we were there.
