Perfect Winter Retreat
I travel a great deal and the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, Montana was one of the more memorable stays. The staff are exceptional and hotel ammenities are just right. Food and drink are excellent but note, expensive. This is a hotel that treats its clients as if it were an exclusive resort. However, the winter is the "off season". You can ski nearby and there are many other outdoor winter events to keep you busy, but again it is the off season and the hotel is not exceptionally busy. i suspect that the hotel becomes very busy in the summer and perhaps service may suffer, but I do not know.

Short drive from hotel
There are many places to dine in the small town of Whitefish. Prices are moderately high around town but I was never disappointed with any meal or serivce. Try the Buffalo Grill for breakfast and Second Street Pizza for dinner (lots more than pizza). There is also a local brew pub with excellent suds. Also, take in Glacier Distillery (Town of Coram and on the way to Glacier Park) for small-batch Montana-made Whiskey.

Wonderful!!!!
Sight seeing was our goal. And it was beyond beautiful. We got a suite for next to nothing and we were treated like royalty. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. I usually don't sleep well when not at home, but I slept like a baby here.

Stayed at better place
Its was an ok stay. Went for a ski trip. There was nothing special. When we checked in our room was not cleaned. Waited for an hour! When we did finally get into our room the garbage was not taken out and carpets not vacumed. I went for a late night sit in the hot tub and was kicked out very rudely. There were no signs posted as to when it closed, the key card still worked, and the lights and bubbles still on. The gentlemen was very rde about the whole situations. They definatly should tell their customers the times and rules.

Great spot to stay
We were only at the Lodge for one night but would have enjoyed staying longer if time permitted. The room was large, well laid-out and very clean. It has a great bathroom with slate and granite and a seperate shower as well as a nice tub. There was a microwave, snacks, coffee-maker and minifridge. The best part was the incredibly comfortable beds and the gas fireplace with flatscreen HDTV above. The Lodge itself is large and rambling with assorted stuffed animals placed throughout. There is a great view of the lake from the outdoor hot tub and pool however as it was November the pool was not in operation. The fitness room was also a big hit with my kids. If I was travelling to Whitefish again I would defintely stay at the Lodge!

If you have kids or a small budget I would suggest driving to Second Street Pizza in Whitefish, the portions are large the pizza tastes great and the price is a steal.

Great fall getaway!
As a couple needing a weekend getaway, this was a great experience. We stayed in one of the new "Viking Lodge" rooms across the street from the main lodge. These rooms are the more affordable of the rooms at this hotel, but we certainly did not feel like we were getting anything less than the best. The room was very clean upon arrival. We were pleasantly surprised with the gas fireplace, the glass shower, and the nice bath tub. This room felt more like a nice master suite than it did a hotel room. Hotel staff were pleasant and accomodating. Our only complaint with the room was that the "king" bed was actually two twin beds put together, so sleeping in the middle of the bed proved to be uncomfortable. We would consider the 2 Queen option next time. The breakfast buffet left a little to be desired, and at $11.99/person, could have been much better. Our overall experience was a great one and we hope to stay there again.

Loved the room
Great place to stay, we had a viking room which is across the street. It was worth it for us to pay less, and have a quieter room, that was just as beutiful. We were only at the lodge at night and spent our days a glacier park, which is about 30 minutes away. The lodge was having a wedding while we were there, which is fine, but they don't reserve parking for their guest, so basically when we got back from the park at 8pm we were tired and ready to rest and there was NO place to park!!! Really nowhere! I was amazed that such an up-class resort would allow this to happen to their paying customers, and none of their employees seemed to have an answer to this, or care for that matter!

Amazing stay!
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake was one of the best places we've stayed in Montana. We visited Whitefish from Missoula for a quiet weekend break in April. The queen room was beautiful and spacious with lovely sitting and kitchen areas and a balcony. The fireplace was warm and welcoming. The view of the lake was amazing but we did not use the lakeside spa and sadly the outdoor pool was closed this time of year. The only bad thing about the hotel is the lack of a good restaurant for breakfast or dinner. However, Whitefish is a cute little town with lots of nice restaurants and we had a delicious breakfast at Lou La's and dinner at MacKenzie river pizza co.

Fantastic, Rustic, and Luxurious!
This was a wonderful place to stay. I was there while visiting my daughter, and we had a lodge room with two queen beds. The view was of the parking lot, which was about thirty dollars cheaper than the rooms with the views of the lake. Next time, I might spring for the beautiful view! The workout room was small but spotlessly clean, and it had a lovely view of the lake. The pool and spa also overlook the lake. The staff were great and the room was just lovely. It was really big, with its own fireplace. I will definitely stay here again!

When in Whitefish, if you like unusual Mexican Food, try Pescado Blanco on first street.
