This hotel in West Yellowstone

This hotel in West Yellowstone was better than I expected for the price. I read a few reviews, the room was very clean and large, about a 1999 remodel, the bed was very new and very comfortable King Size, fridge, microwave, large shower area. The breakfast was an enhanced continental breakfast was sufficient in comparsion to the price, it was more than I expected. If in West Yellowstone I would definitely be going back to the Best Western Cross Winds. Some people complained about this hotel, but it is definitely about 3 Star, with a very good price. If people who have complained had paid a 5 Star hotel price they would have a genuine gripe, but this is extremely great value, very clean and staff were very helpful. If you want to pay $ 180 a night you would go elsewhere, but for $ 75 a night great value, slept like a log.

A Great Getaway!!

The room was very clean and inviting. The hotel staff was extra helpful! We asked for, and they delivered, local area information directly to our room. They really made us feel welcome!! The free continental breakfast was good. A nice way to start our day! We would be happy to stay there another time! We had access to Yellowstone National Park, just a couple of blocks away!

Amazing Yellowston Park getaway alone

ONE DAY TRIP ON SATURADY 26TH SEPTEMBER INTO THE YELLOWSTONE NATIONA PARK...I STAYED THERE FROM FRIDAY 25TH SEPT. TO SUN. 27TH SEPT. i'M GIRL AND I TRAVELLED ALONE...VERY GOOD POSITION, SAFE PLACE AND IN A WALK DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING IN WEST YELLOWSTONE. GOOD, I RECCOMEND AND i WOULD STAY ANOTHER TIME THERE. THEY MUST IMPROVE ROOM WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION...SLOW AND HARD TO FIND THE RIGHT GATE TO CONNECT PORTABLE DEVICES

Great location for a great price

We took a family vaction to Yellowstone National Park, like we do every year. We try a new hotel every year, but will keep going back to this one. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. We have four kids ages one to ten and we felt Very comfortable, not cramped at all. The pool was VERY clean and warm. The continental breakfast was PERFECT! Something for all ages to choose from!

Nice

It was a great location. I could walk to all the restaurants and shops. However, the breakfast area was so tight, I could barely get my chair out. The staff weren't that friendly and couldn't answer any questions even when related to Yellowstone! Nor did they want to answer questions. They more or less grunted. You would think they would at least know that, since the hotel is in West Yellowstone.

Noisy place to stay

This hotel is the kind of place where you'll only want to sleep, and given how loud the rooms are you'll be hard-pressed to get much shut eye. This was without a doubt one of the noisiest hotel rooms I've ever been in. It's not simply that there's no insulation, but that the room seems to AMPLIFY every sound made inside the building and out. You could hear every step taken by the people in the upstairs room, and when they turned their water on it sounded like we were in the engine room of the Titanic! The room was so moisy that my 9 year old commented that he could here the people unzipping in the bathroom upstairs! The family upstairs stayed up until 12:30 am, so we didn't have a choice but to do the same. Plan on getting up early, too, as you can hear all the horns beeping from within your room when folks lock and unlock their cars in the morning and night. You might hope the A/C would drown out some of the noise, but the thermostat on ours was set so high that it barely cooled the room off, and the unit would turn itself off completely after a couple of hours, and in the middle of each night. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, just an open window looking into your neighbors bath. Yeah, it's that kind of place. I was wondering why the pool was empty every day, well, until I took my son for swim and found that the water in the indoor pool was colder than that in the Firehole River we swam in the same day! And the breakfast buffet? Not aweful, but not very good. Two cereals, toast, boiled eggs and mini-muffins. And there were only four or five tables for the hundreds of guests to fight over in order to sit down while eating. Overall, this hotel is run strictly to make money. not to generate any praise or return customers. The people working the desk each night are foreign exchange workers making less than minimum wage, and the front desk didn't even have a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine. Noisy, mediocre service and lousy amenities. I don't know if there are nicer hotels in West Yellowstone, but next time I'll be looking for one, or I'll camp before staying at an annoying hotel like this again.
