okay for the money

Quick overnight stop. EZ access from Interstate. Clean, but needs work, like many motels these days. Some better deals - in unrecommended hotels - within a few blocks, if you are willing to travel without a reservation. In mid-June, most motels seemed about 60% or less filled-up in this neighborhood. Altogether, I'd stay there again, for an overnight.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Billings has THREE Fuddrucker's which I love for burger restaurants, and one of them is within a few minutes' drive from Rimview Motel.

More than expected

We stayed at the Rimview for an overnight to catch an early flight the next morning. It exceeded our expectations. The room was immaculate, roomy, quiet and the beds were ultra comfortable. The staff were extra friendly and helpful. I will be staying here again. And a plus is that there is free airport shuttle should I not have someone with me to drive to the airport.

Bed bugs

Was covered with bed bug bites after staying at this hotel. Complained to the manager, and he said he would reimburse 1/2 of the night's stay. He did not.

Rimview Inn

At check in we got the wrong type of room. Upon request the next morning for the correct type of room due to a surgery done on my husband that morning it took an additional two hours after he was released from the hospital to finally get into a corrected room.

The good and the bad

The staff was helpful and friendly. But the room needed some attention. The room smelled of smoke (was a non-smoking room). The outside smelled of gasoline. The bed was comfortable but it was not clean. Sheets and pillow cases were dirty. The location of this establishment was perfect, near a lot of other businesses and food establishments.

Shower water hits knees after 10 minutes

The room wasn't very clean, the tub had a clogged drain, and some shady characters were hanging around the establishment. It was quiet, and my vehicle didn't get broken into. Everything turned out fine, except the plugged drain really bothered me.

Plenty of better options out there

I only stayed here for the night as a stopover between Wall, SD and Bozeman, MT. I arrived around 6 and left the next morning. I had someone else book this for me since I didn't have internet access in Wall, and they reserved a non-smoking room even though I smoke. When I asked the man at the front desk if he had any smoking rooms open he said he had one and gave me a key (note; actual key, not key card like most places). The smoking wing seemed like a house with four rooms sectioned off as their own space. The room I was given was not prepared so I returned to the office and was given a key to a non-smoking room but was told I could step outside and smoke, which was fine by me. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I appreciated that they tried to cater to me (and it was my fault for not specifying smoking, not theirs) and were apologetic that I couldn't have a smoking room. The staff definitely deserves an A+. The room was clean but seemed old and rundown. The lightswitch didn't work, so the entrance lamp could only be turned on from the lamp itself. This wouldn't have been a big deal except that the light over the bed didn't work, so to have light at night I needed to get out of bed to turn off the entrance lamp. The TV was very small and quite far from the bed. There was a hanging light in the "kitchenette" corner which was missing a shade. Also, there were only two outlets available and neither were close to the bed. I needed to charge my computer (free WI-FI was provided and worked well) and charge my phone and the distance to the outlets made using my computer or phone in bed difficult. The walls between rooms were thin and I could here both rooms next to me but worst of all the room above. I can only assume the person above me fell asleep with the TV on because I heard it at 1 a.m. when I tried to go to sleep and again at 5:30 when I was woken up by it. I didn't bother with calling the office to complain because I was only there for one night and was willing to just suck it up. Checking out was friendly and simple, a testament to the fact that the service far exceeded the quality of the motel. I did not travel around Billings except to a McDonald's nearby for dinner so I don't know how convenient it is to Billings attractions. It was easy enough to get back on the interstate so the location for a quick stop over was good. I applaud the friendly service I was given at the Rimview, but I was less than thrilled with their physical accommodations. If I were to go back to Billings (which I won't) I would probably look for a different place like a Super 8 or Motel 6 that follows a more cookie cutter design.

Disappointing

Room had an unpleasant ordor. Chair in room was broken. The bed was comfortable. TV reception was poor and the TV was quite old, and small. Very poor lighting. The property tried to save money by converting to low wattage bulbs but in return, the lighting is extremely poor. The wifi worked well but was not secure. The ratings were high on the internet. I suspect they had been placed by the property owners.
