Holiday Inn Express SOUTHAVEN (MEMPHIS INTL ARPT)

Thiis hotel is equivalent to Hampton Inns, Marriott Courtyards, etc. Hotel is defniitely a business class hotel. Staff was very helpful, friendly. I would stay again. I had an incredible rate of $48.00 a night.

It was very easy to get to. right off the interstate. staff was very nice and breakfast was awesome! Would definatiley stay there again.

I stayed here with my wife, grown son and grown daughter. We were staying three nights. We rented the kids a separate room. Initially there was some confusion as to whether we would keep the EXTRA room all three nights. The front desk assumed I only wanted it for one night, not three, so the next day while we were out, they locked us out of BOTH rooms. This disturbed me quite a bit, because I felt as though I was quite clear that the kids had travelled with us from Houston, therefore they needed the room all three nights as well. Besides, when they opened the door to the room the next day (to clean it), and saw the kids' luggage, they SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that we needed the room longer. A message on the phone (or a simple phone call, they had my cell number)would have been more than adequate to resolve this issue. To lock us out of our rooms was quite low class, I felt. What was I going to do; leave my luggage but steal the towels??? (Exactly, a bit over-the-top don't you agree?) After the initial confusion was resolved by me going back down to the desk and chastizing them a bit, the rest of our stay was quite WONDERFUL. The material condition of the hotel is somewhat lacking. The pool was empty and there was equipment around it that showed they had started working on it and then just left their tools and stuff laying around while they were off for the weekend. Just not too tidy. Ugly even... The room was large, the beds were THE BEST I'VE SLEPT ON IN YEARS at a hotel. The breakfast every morning was GREAT. The staff was very helpful and courteous. This place is VERY convenient to the airport and I-55. The price was right. I felt safe having my family with me and parking my upscale vehicle there. It's NOT a four star hotel, but it is INDEED a solid 3+ stars. Once they fix the pool, clean up the lobby a bit (the rug by the front desk was filthy) and learn some class in dealing with folks, it will indeed be a four star place. It's obvious that it once was. It wouldn't take much to be one again. Honestly though, I'll probably stay at the big brother to this place over on Goodman next time.

Very clean room, no external noises at night, continental breakfast excellent, evening Desk Clerk friendly and informative with suggestions on what turned out to be a wonderful visit to Beale Street. Nothing bad to comment other than bed was too firm for our liking.

Close to interstate and most of our friends as well as our grandchildren. Got in pool with grands. Have stayed at this location on previous occasions. Rooms needed a little airing out. Otherwise, we'll stay again on our next trip. Hope price doesn't go up again.
