Breakfast was $17 per person, everything is overpriced. I have not stayed in the other hotels but I am sure they are better ... than the Gold Strike. I think their business has slowed and they are trying to make up the loss by charging more for everything else.

I took my elderly mother gambling. We both really had a good time. Patrons and staff very friendly. I relied on surveys like ... this to make my choice of where to stay. I'm glad I picked the GOLDSTRIKE!!! Rooms just remolded, extremely comfortable beds!! They have a good variety of resturants, including muffins, bagels, sweets to pizza and buffet. Week day prices are worth the money.

Hotel was very nice and well worth the money. The only issue we had were the room doors slamming shut. They shut very fast ... so they slam shut each time you enter or leave the room. It is very loud and you can hear all your neighbors neighbors coming and going at all hours. I would recommend a box fan to drown out the noise if you are a light sleeper.

The Gold Strike is a very nice hotel. The price was comparable to others in this area. The staff are courteous and seem to go ... out of their way to make you feel welcome and offer help if needed. The room was spotless and very tastefully decorated. The check-in line moved quickly and there was ample counter help. I will definitely go back...no reason not to!!

We have stayed at the Gold Strike several times. This is our second stay since all rooms were remodeled. The rooms are much ... nicer since the remodel. MGM now owns the Gold Strike, and although I don't like everything MGM has done casino-wise, the hotel rooms have definitely benefitted. The Gold Strike's location is a big plus, with two other casinos within easy walking distance. Additionally, Gold Strike is a contender for the nicest Tunica casino. The staff is friendly, too, from top to bottom. The Chicago Steakhouse has spectacular steaks! The one negative is the ease in which noise flows from the hallway into your hotel room. The way the doorknobs are configured, you can't quietly shut your door, and since this is a casino, people are coming and going in and out of their rooms at all hours of the night. If you are a light sleeper, you will be awakened frequently during the night (unless you are one of the nightowls that stays out until 4:00 a.m.). If there were some way to quieten the way the doors close, or seal the rooms so the sound doesn't enter them as easily, this would be a slam dunk 5 star rating.

With Horseshoe and Sheraton casinos a short walk away, you have the easiest commute between three casinos in Tunica without ever having to use your car.

I throughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel was very clean and well maintain. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The ... casino was wonderful. There was only one thing that I felt was a little over priced and that was the food. The buffet was good but I felt should have been divided into breakfast and dinner. I would return again.

Traveling with family from Chicago to Texas and stooped in for an overnight stay for the wifes and kids to rest; staff was ... courteous, rooms were clean and the whirpool tub was a great way to rejuvenate. Kids game room was a great way to keep my 5 year occupied (with mom in tow of course) while I enjoyed the gaming floor for a couple hours. The food in the buffet was just ok

Casino's Don't Work on a Road Trip

Driving cross country, we were looking for accommodations near I40 in Memphis. This location popped up on Orbitz and had a ... good price. Turned out to be a 40 minute drive from I40, south to Tunica, MS. Once there, it was clearly NOT a location for a cross country traveler. Might be a good choice, if you're looking for a casino break. Not a good choice, if you're looking for a road break and have to get up and going the next morning. It wasn't any fun repacking the truck in the valet lane in front of the hotel.

I really enjoyed playing the black jack plus 3 which I had never played before. The odds on the plus three pay out 9 to 1 so if you hit atleast once or twice an hour, you usually atleast break even. The dealer had no problem showing us how to play and was very patient and friendly.
