Howard Johnson Inn Biloxi Ocean Springs

Hotel was newly remodeled and clean. At $45 per night it was a solid value. Location is excellent with the shops, bars and restaurants of Ocean Springs only 2 miles away and the casinos in Biloxi only 5 miles away. The staff wasn't particularly friendly or helpful, but it's a discount hotel, not the Ritz, so I didn't expect much more.

This hotel would rate below many in the area for class, location, etc. But considering the room rate, and the amenities, it is hard to beat. The continental breakfast is a nice amenity, and the microwave & refrigerator is a plus. The on negative that I found, is that it took about 10 to 15 minutes to get water hot enough to shower. We were at the far end of the hall, and there were not many rooms occupied on the first day of our stay. However, on the 2nd day, there were more rooms occupied, and the hot water came faster.

The hotel staff was rude and didn't communicate with each other very well. Each staff member told us something different. The manager was the worst of them all. She had a bad attitude and was not very helpful. The rooms smelled really bad and the bathrooms weren't clean. Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again.

Overall, good for the price. Pool was nice, property well maintained. Rooms average but comfortable. Continental breakfast ok but coffee way too weak. Staff friendly.

This hotel seems to be very clean, fairly friendly staff, and good location. Howard Johnson was definitely up to my standards and would stay here again.

The staff was very nice I was showed great hospitality and greater with a smile at all times. The only time I was a little inconvenienced was when they were dealing with a repair that called for the water being off . Other than that I had a great stay :)

The first thing that happened was the reservation - the clerk was saying he could not locate it - as the confirmation number was not enough digits...after about 10 minutes of looking up on his computer - I Heard him mumble something about already checking us in...then he made a call to a room and asked their name - mumbled again- then printed out a paper and assigned us a room. I had given him all my confirmation info. including my e-mails and the [...]confirmation too. I think they gave our room to someone else - we were not late in checking in...so I am not sure what was going on...he also did not speak English too well. The other thing in our room the AC unit was pretty loud as it would cut on and off all night and we are pretty light sleepers, so it was disturbing, along with people and traffic noises- we were on the ground floor. The fact that the room had no where to hang your clothes was also a little disheartening...I never stayed at a place where you had no place to hang up clothes. The bed was comfortable enough, even though it was not very large...it said queen size, but felt more like a full size. I was not impressed with the free breakfast either, but I suppose at the low fee we got, we could not expect much. Luckily, we only had to spend the night once there, so it was just ok. I am not sure that we would stay there again, or recommend it to anyone else. The shower was very nice , however, wish I had that one at my house. The place was clean but the towels were a little thin and took some time to dry off properly. There was a microwave and refigerator, but no hair dryer. The space was pretty small all together, if I were a single traveler, I suppose it would not be too bad.

The room and furnishings (and Pool) we comparable to rooms we have paid more than twice the money for.

rooms has been partialy renovated. The bed is confortable. Everything is very basic but clean. Breakfeast is a joke. Choice of apple, orange, bread and 2 kind of cereal staff is good I would recommend this hotel if you pay under 50$
