Better Off Elsewhere
My husband and I carried our daughter and her children to the family reunion in Mississippi. I had made this reservation before we left; I will never again make the mistake of paying ahead. We were under-impressed by the ancient edifice and crumbling parking lot. When I tried to check in, the hotel had no information concerning my confirmation number. The clerk seemed confused by my request for an extra bed. She said the problems would have to be resolved by the manager who would be there "later that night." Not wishing to hang around without a room and needing to change for an event that evening, we rented at the motel on the other end of town and forfeited the $65. This was not a pleasant encounter.
